“Crisis Management Planning – What’s Happening Where We Work?”
| |
| Crises continue to be in our newspaper headlines and the lead stories on radio and television broadcasts. And crises continue to affect businesses in many forms and continue to occur without notice. But what’s happening where we work in response to this continuing trend of crises? Are businesses preparing for crises by developing crisis management plans? Do you know if your company has a crisis management plan or a business disaster recovery plan? Crisis Management in the 21st Century
| |
| Crises may come in many forms: fires, floods, plant disasters, class action lawsuits--and these days, terrorist threats or attacks.
A properly-managed enterprise must plan for such contingencies, lest the onset of such a crisis end up in the extinction of the business. Remember--it may not be the crisis itself that results in your extinction--it may be your slowness to respond, or the inappropriateness of your response.
This paper looks at the type of planning and resources you need to dedicate to manage crises to best ensure the survival of your business. |

Monetary Police is Science, Everything Else is Stamp-Collecting
| |
| This new Eric Leeper paper seems delusional in arguing that monetary policy is science, while fiscal policy is stamp-collecting, but I maybe I'm just being crotchety. The piece also comes up with the new-to-me argument that monetary policy would be even better science if it weren't for fiscal policy mucking things up. |

What does Fiscal Year-End Mean?
The completion of a one-year, or 12-month, accounting period. A firm's fiscal year-end does not necessarily need to fall on December 31, and can actually fall on any day throughout the year. |
