In order to experience love from others we need to experience and express love for ourselves first. Part of how we can express love for ourselves, is to share our love with others. You can deepen your self-love through healthy outward expressions of love for others. These questions will help you start thinking about how you want love to show up and be expressed in your life.

People express and receive love in different ways. Dr. Gary Chapman identifies these as the five languages of love.

Fall In Love With Yourself
Avoid making falling in love with yourself into a chore or another opportunity to blame yourself for any shortcomings. Love yourself the way you love others. Go out of your way to see the best in you and be glad of it, it's your birthright!

THINGS YOU MIGHT FIND DIFFICULT
“Love means never having to say you’re sorry!” You may or may not be old enough to remember that line from the movie; “LOVE STORY,” which believe it or not came out all the way back in 1970. I suppose the rationale for what was meant here was that love is unconditional and therefore does not require apologies. Combining love with apologizing seemed like a good lead into what I wanted to write about this month. Life presents us with all kinds of challenges and at times there are a number of things all of us find difficult. Two of those in particular that many find difficult are; saying we’re sorry and telling someone we love them!
Chaos and Communication
A recent worldwide survey revealed that there are 6,800 languages and dialects spoken globally today. While I am often amazed how inaccurate communications can get, when you consider the number of languages spoken, it is somewhat amazing that we communicate at all. It could be argued that most problems in human interaction arise from poor communication. Assuming that none of us set out to miscommunicate, it is important to explore why our best intentions to transfer knowledge, emotion, and details fall short. Remember, just because you're talking doesn't mean anyone's hearing. If they are hearing, it doesn't mean they're listening to you. Even if they are listening to you, it doesn't mean that they understand what you're saying.

What we say matters in communication. How we say it is just as important. According to Albert Mehrabian, 7 percent of face-to-face communication is words (language), and tone (38 percent). Over the telephone, words hold more weight because if we don’t understand the language used (foreign), then tone becomes irrelevant. Monotone languages (like Malay and English) are easier to learn, whereas multi-tone languages (Mandarin, for instance) is harder to master as there are four tones.
