Will you Stand up for the Truth?
I've been struggling this last week with a sticky situation. Actually as I write that, I realize it doesn't have to be a sticky situation. It's only sticky because of fear. My own fear, which has been fueled to a flame by the fear of others.

On Taking Risks
One of the hardest things in life to do is take risks. Many people tell me they're not willing to sacrifice their security, and find risk-taking to be frightening. But once you realize that everything involves risk, your confidence becomes the cure for risk aversion. One survey showed that in order for people to succeed in business they need self- confidence, drive and energy, the ability to deal with uncertainty and confusion, and finally, persistence. These attributes will come naturally when you are doing what you truly want to do. When you are pursuing Core Desires, you are willing to acquire knowledge, skills, and experience, and you have the will to persist.

The Serendipity Factor
Incredible things happen independently of those you personally create. I call these serendipitous blessings. When you're pushing hard on door A, someone or something opens door B. Often, when you look through door B, what's behind it is much better than what you were going after in the first place. However, you wouldn't have seen door B open if you hadn't been in the hall pushing on door A. Get in the here and now and look for the other opened doors, or go open some doors on your own.

Leverage Your Time and Energy - Untie Your Shoes!
A while ago, I wrote a short post for small business owners and managers called “Building a Sustainable Infrastructure”. In it, I touched briefly on the idea of leveraging your time and energy by addressing problems and challenges from the standpoint of sustainability, or how to solve problems for good, using the least possible amount of time and energy. This seems to be a topic of great interest and value for many of my clients, so I thought I’d finally give it some of the attention it truly deserves.

"I predict that by 2010, 100 percent of network traffic will be packetized. None of it will be voice because we will be too mad at each other from sending flame e-mails." Vint Cerf, former executive vice president of MCI and one of the founders of the Internet.

Taking responsibility
Being responsible for your life does not just mean being accountable for your actions to another. In personal growth and self-help terms it means being aware of what you feel, think, say and do, responding to that awareness and owning it as yours, rather than blaming another or projecting it on to the world. When you take responsibility you give yourself true power over your life and you become able to respond to your inner “candle flame” of truth and authenticity.

Home-based Business: Floating Candles
If you are engaged in a home-based business, and you make candle-making as your niche, consider making floating candles. Floating candles are an evidence that flame can survive water because they actually float on it. You simply need to put several of them in a bowl of water or tall vase. Parties are given romantic touch and creativity as swimming pools have decorative floating candles on them.
