How to Give your Startup Idea a Reality Check
I’m sure you all realize that there could be quite a distance between a great idea and a great startup. But many people don’t have a clue on how to bridge the gap. So, trying carefully not to rain on his parade, I suggested to my friend that he consider the following steps as a reality check before spending his life savings (and mine) to roll out a solution:

WOM…It’s An Art, It’s Science, It’s Theirs
If you went to/read about SXSW (check Wikipedia) you saw that folks were doing everything for word of mouth (WOM) buzz. They'll do it all the time, every time. Big secret though? Those folks don't have one iota of control over WOM! Nope that belongs to the people we're feeding the messages to. You know "them." Problem is they can turn on you in a heartbeat and gawd it ain't pretty. When that happens it's damage control and you try to save the vital parts...that's when you call the PR folks to blame...not us, them! It can be "managed if you know how to prepare, what to do, when to do it...and you have blind faith!!!!

How To Write a Corporate Blog
It seems like it’s all so easy, but I guess it isn’t. Joe Wilcox from eWeek wrote a blog post that pretty much sums it up in the title: Make Your Corporate Blog Believable. That’s it folks, that’s the entire ball game. I have no specific tips on how often you should blog, nor the length of a post. It’s utterly irrelevant if you can’t decide on using your blog as a genuine, authentic voice of your company.

Where Will You Store The Rushing Waves of Content?
The growth of graphic content -- photo, video, presentations -- means storage will continue to be a thriving market for years to come. Understanding the needs may assist you in handling your content and providing services to others.

What can be the "next big thing" in supply chain management?
Network Member Question What can be the "next big thing" in supply chain management? Will it be technology-related (eg. new innovations, new IT solutions etc.) or more market-related (eg. changes in consumers demands and expectations forcing companies to adapt)? Are there any major differences in the SCM developments in different parts of the world? Eg. are European supply chains significantly different from American on Asian supply chains? Will it change in the future? Can we say that any part of the globe is developing faster than the others in terms of SCM maturity? Przemek Pietak Senior Consultant, Roland Berger Warsaw, Poland

A Bad Idea Isn’t a Strategy, Just a Bad Idea
Everyone said netbooks were going to kill notebooks – cheaper, lighter, longer lasting battery, cloud connected. Then the tablet was going to kill the netbook and the notebook was OK. Now the netbook – renamed – is going to be the cheap, anywhere solution because everything will be in the cloud…and everyone. Yep hackers, phishers, whackers, malwarers and that’s where you want us to put our everything.? Malware hit an all-time high last quarter and it's doesn't look like anyone has a quick fix for keeping the mean, greedy away.

IT Technologies: Extinction in 5 to 10 Years?
Member Question: 1) Which IT technologies are going to stay in market for next 5-10 years and why? 2)Which IT technologies will be extinct in 5-10 years and why?
