Ray Kroc Biography
| |
| The biography of Ray Kroc is a story of firsts. He was one of the first fifteen year olds to serve as an ambulance driver with the Red Cross during the First World War after lying about his age. He was the first to see the nationwide potential of a small family business operating out of California. And, he was the first man to apply the principles of mass production to the service industry. |

Five Steps to Market Your Business with Text Messaging
| |
| I remember the days before cell phones. Remember when you needed to wait until your friend returned home from the beach, or from thier cross-town visit with Aunt Bernice?
Those days are long gone!
It seems everyone has cell phones these days. Everyone from six and seven year olds all the way to 90 year old grannies! Some of you may be shaking your heads and thinking, "What is this world coming to? We made it without cell phones, why can't they?!?"
Guess what?
Every time you make that statement or think that thought you are wasting your time. Things are NOT going to reverse, and people won't return those cell phones. So ... accept it! :) |

The iGen
| |
| NO...Doesn't have a thing to do with "that" smartphone...or "that" store...or "that" tablet. It's the next generation. Kids and we mean little kids. That's what today's products are being designed for/targeted at. You happen to buy one...fine.
Watch a little, little kid pick up a smartphone. He/she just uses it. They've come pre-wired and we're still trying to figure out how to IM. It's the IGen. They want it instantly. They want to use it instantly. They expect their photos, their video, their music, their stuff immediately when/where/how they want it.
35-year-olds are over the hill. 20 year olds just at the peak of the hill. 15 year olds, half way up the hill. 50 year olds...ferget it!!!!
So we've looked at the people who will replace you as the prime market. Curious....take a look !!!

A Lesson from a 4-Year-Old
| |
| If we were to conduct a poll among the readers of this column to determine how many of you
could sing or dance, I fear that we would receive the overwhelming message that the vast
majority of adults feel they have no talent in these areas. On the other hand, if we were to
conduct the same poll among 4-year-olds, we would find that virtually all of them are convinced
they can sing, and virtually all of them have confidence in their ability to dance.

Should I Give My Child An Allowance?
| |
| Let's see should I give my child an allowance? How old is the child? Does he or she know how to read and write yet? Toddlers of course do not get an allowance. Ten year olds should clean their rooms without an allowance. If you are old enough to get a paper route then the situation changes. But to answer the question: Should I give my child an allowance? Here is my take on it. |

Deepening Our Discipline
| |
| During the 1960s, psychologist Walter Mischel conducted "the marshmallow test" with four-year-olds in the preschool at Stanford University to assess each preschooler's ability to delay gratification. Each four-year-old was given one marshmallow. They were told that they could eat it immediately or, if they waited until the researcher returned in twenty minutes, they could have two marshmallows. |
