| |
| Takeaway: Allow peace, rest and clarity in your life to attract the right people and resist the unneeded drama.
Quote: "The gremlins persist until you DECIDE to loose the chains" - Tony Calvano
It was the summer of 2007. It was quite a low point in my life. I had just finished a 40-day stint at an employer, and I was without a new opportunity for another 40 days. |

You Are Surrounded!
| |
| In many areas of life, and business you hear people talking about some of the key components to becoming a successful person in their chosen professions. One thing you hear mentioned over and over again, is that it’s important to surround yourself with likeminded individuals with similar goals, or perhaps people who have already succeed in that field.

I’m Looking for a Hero
| |
| The sound of laughter ringing out from the dining room where some friends are having dinner together, a simple thing, but something that has been a long time coming back into my life, only because the barriers I put up to keep the pain out, also kept the joy out as well. Simple conversation and general chit-chat mixed with good feelings, comfortable surroundings and the odd vino or two made a Friday eve not just the end of yet another week, into something great and memorable. |

With a Little Help from my Friends Others or Even Strangers
| |
| Do you know what almost all successful business owners have in common? They all possess the ability to ask for what they need, no matter who they have to approach in order to bring them closer to their goals. Depending on one’s personality, this could be one of the scariest parts about business. Being afraid of making cold calls, soliciting business from potential clients, and/or being rejected the 8-9 times out of 10 (which is typical for a business owner) is often what causes most businesses to fail. |

Work-Life Balance Tip 17 - Put Friends Back into Your Life (Part One)
| |
| Remember when you had friends? OK write the names of three friends down on a piece of paper.....oh....did I mention they can't be people that you work with? Why not? It's OK to enjoy their company but we need to get a life...balanced outside of work. And when was the last time you spent time with any of your friends?
When I did this exercise I realized how isolated I had become. With travel and work, school and sports events, one day lead to another. I had talked with but hadn't seen some of my dear friends in over a year!
Why don't we spend more time with friends? Most of us see entertainment as an expense of both money and work. Sure, if I invite people over to my home, it means I've gotta clean. And oh, that carpet it dirty, I'll need to have that shampooed first. The wallpaper is peeling and the walls need paint. One week delay t |

Tip 17 Work-Life Balance - How to Put Friends Back Into Your Life (Part 2)
| |
| Hopefully you have read Part one of this article and picked up 2 ways to put friends back into your life. Now we have 2 more strategies.
Divide the Town and the Year
The most powerful solution I've found I'll share first. I've divided our city, Tampa, into 4 quadrants, N, S, E, and West. I've also divided my calendar up into quadrants, January, April, July, and October. Then I combine those two. Here are the rules:
First: Invite 5 couples (or 10 people) from the north side of town. Why? More than 10 and the restaurant will hate you and the mess you bring...plus at least 2 people won't show so your crowd should be the perfect size.
Second: Do this on a weekday. Why? Because weekends should be sacred for family time.
Third: Make sure you create this outing immediately after work. Why? You know why. If someone goes home fir |

The Value of True Friendships
| |
| Everyone wants, and needs, friends-especially close friends. You can never say that you truly just want to be left alone, that you don't want or need to have any close friends. It's a Core Desire for human beings to interact with others-to like and be liked, to love and be loved. Close friends permit you to open up and have fun. They like and accept all the things that make you you-the good, the bad, and the ugly. True friendship allows you to feel safe with another person, to be accepted by others-in spite of the things you do wrong and in spite of your idiosyncrasies. |
