Marketing and Twitter
Twitter was the one site that puzzled me. It’s not like any other site and I was baffled at how and why people had 15,000 people they were following. It felt daunting and overwhelming so I didn’t really jump into it full force. Since then, I have picked up a resource that has helped. Listed in the body of this article are a few things I learned.

Lesson #3: Take Your Foot Off the Brakes and Drive!
Newman’s first law: “It’s useless to put on your brakes when you’re upside down.”

Lesson #5: There is No Greater Good Than Your Gut
Huizenga was able to achieve the success that he did because he loved what he was doing. He loved being able to take an idea and try to sell others on it to make it happen. But what was behind Huizenga’s confidence in those ideas? What made him believe so strongly that they would work when others might have already tried the same thing and failed? The answer is quite simply, gut instinct.

Look for the Loose Brick
I hear salespeople say that speaking to a particular prospect was like "hitting a brick wall." The prospect's guard was up in full force. The prospect seemed to get bored or, worse yet, to actually become defensive or offensive, as the case may be, every time the salesperson mentioned a product benefit or feature. It pains me to hear this, as I've known exactly what it feels like to be in such a position.

5 Personality Traits of Action-Oriented People
I'm an action-oriented person. I take on big goals and go after them full force. I don't like to take too much time to plan and prepare. I believe in the "ready-fire-aim" approach to life. I'm alright with making mistakes and fixing them after the fact. I believe it builds character. In this article, I give you 5 personlity traits of action-oriented people.

I Know How to Do This!
I thought I had pre-paved a happy-go-lucky attitude towards being a mother. I had intended to let my son, Lucky, follow his own path and my job was to get out of the way. Ahem! Well, my little controller side came out in full force in ways I had not expected. I started out by trusting that Lucky would find his own sleeping pattern. That didn't work. So, when he was four months old I swung to the opposite side of the issue. My child would forever more be on a sleeping schedule. This potentially could've worked if I were more relaxed about it. But I wasn't. I was in huge conflict with my mate, Steve, about my schedule and method of putting Lucky to bed.

Apple, regarding AT&T exclusivity—just say no
As reported yesterday, AT&T CEO Randall Stephenson is allegedly involved in discussions with Apple to extend the carrier’s exclusive iPhone contract into 2011. I hope that doesn’t happen.

Entrepreneur Caution: Idea Vampires are on the Loose
Watch your necks! Be careful with whom you share your ideas! The Idea Vampires are out in full force this month! Actually they are around all year. They just seem more overt in their blood sucking right around Halloween. This is their time of year. Right before the Christmas bonus is being discussed. So, how can you recognize an idea vampire? Here is what they are not: no, they don’t all have long black hair. They don’t all have extra long eye teeth hanging out like fangs. They don’t talk in funny Transylvanian accents.

Selling in the Recession
It's been advertised. It's all the media wants to talk about. It's had an impact on the company you run or work for. Your customers and clients have been affected. Your home and investments have lost value. The recession is here, in full force, and there isn't a single sign that it's going to improve soon. So what must you do to not only survive this down-turn, but thrive in it as well? Here are my top 10:

How To Hold Sales People More Accountable
In working with a client of mine, keeping sales people and distributors accountable is a top priority.

Being right
Being right can leave us with a sense of self-affirmation but it may involve conflict with others who also see themselves as right. Being right involves matters like the social consensus, received doctrine, social rules, and necessities for living together, but it is worth reflecting on how far this term can also be a trap. Insistence on being right may not always serve us and there are times when it is more useful to let go and allow another possibility to emerge.

Lessons to Learn From the First Dot Com Boom
There are a number of people today making their living from the internet; whether doing it through making $50,000 a year or alternatively through making $5 million a year they are still generating the income that they need to survive in a primary sense from their activities on the internet...

The Current Design of Work No Longer Works!
The current design of work was created at a time when a man went to work and a woman stayed home full time. That was just the way it was. Men could only be completely committed to their work because they had that constant support on the home front. Well, the world has changed. Women now have more choices. It’s wonderful! The problem is that some aspects of work have not kept up with the times.
