Even When It Works, There's More Work
Whether a particular story elicits a negligible response or a huge response, you still need to work it.

Customer Loyalty Investing In Relationships
Most businesses are like African baboons – these furry fellows race through the cornfields, picking corn and stuffing it under their arm. As fast as they stuff the corn under their arm, it falls out the back, but they keep on picking and stuffing...

THE POWER OF THE MARKETING PYRAMID
By John Doerr “All animals are equal but some animals are more equal than others.” - George Orwell, Animal Farm 1956 Imagine this scenario: you are at a professional services firm that has just come off a fairly good year of growing revenue and profits. You want to continue this growth going into the coming year and have decided you are finally going to take some of these profits and invest in marketing. You have accumulated a list of 1,000 clients, former clients, and prospects to target. Everyone turns to you and asks, “Well, how are we going to invest our hard-earned profits?”

Information Highway Roadkill!
Don't Become Part of the Information Highway Road Kill. Road kill refers to the animals that have been struck by a motor vehicle and killed. You can rarely go on the highway without seeing roadkill. The animals are in the wrong place at the wrong time and fast moving motor vehicles can't always avoid hitting these unfortunate animals. The Internet is often been referred to as the information highway and it has its own version of roadkill. There are no motor vehicles on the information highway but there definitely is a lot of roadkill! The information highway is strewn with defeated and broken entrepreneurs.

Make Service Your Nature
The economic recovery is on its way according to the animals around my house. And, they seem to be trying to let me know just that. I recall how my childhood dog got under the back porch steps if a storm was coming. If she paced around a lot and whimpered, you could count on a hard rain. She was never wrong. Nature seems to be able to foretell the future.

Cold Barn Warms Me To The Bones! Can Blessings Really Warm More Than Our Hearts?!
Most of us believe a special blessing can warm our hearts. But do you think savoring a blessing, really capturing it, can actually warm our bodies? At least for a little while?! Read about my experience, think about one of your own 'toasty' times and then you can decide what you think. Here's my 'toasty' time story... I was just tweeting about getting myself all 'psyched up' to get 'bundled' up to head outside into the freezing cold. It was chore time, a.k.a. dinner time. Our barnful of big, furry and feathery pets needed hay, grain and water-again. More feeding times and harder work now that winter was here and the pastures were all covered with snow. Because I was so snuggled up and because it was colder tonight, I knew it was going to be tougher to get going this time. But I knew I had to go. I started lifting my blanket..

What do animals have to do with marketing?
About a year ago now, I went along to a presentation on sales. The presenter advised us to think about people’s personalities when selling as four key animals – Monkeys, Lions, Dolphins and Elephants. Although all of us have a mixture of these personalities within us, we’re all dominated by one of them too.

Here’s A Smelly Subject
There are really only a few common causes of bad odors. It can be from a human or animal source or often it is fungal. Today, I want to address when it is caused by animals or people who act like animals. The worst has to be a bladder control problem from a cat. However, male animals tend to mark their territory by spraying vertical objects like walls and furniture. Most wall substrates are porous and will soak up the urine and retain all the odors just to dispense it over time. Wood floors are also highly absorbent and will act like a wick to all liquids. Funny enough, most folks figure that if it’s dry, it’s gone. WRONG! Those odors are there to stay and will come back to haunt the unwary buyer. Don’t let that be you.
