A Cutting-Edge Career: Cuban Makes It Big
After being fired from Your Business Software, Cuban convinced some of its other employees to leave the company and join him in his latest venture, MicroSolutions. It was to be a system integrator and reseller for various IT companies, including IBM and Apple. In just eight years, the company had sold over 500 networks that ranged in size from two to over 1,000 users. By investing in cutting-edge technology and providing outstanding customer service, MicroSolutions had become a major player in the promising new IT industry – so major, that in 1990, Cuban sold the company to CompuServe, Inc. for $6 million.

Lesson #3: Success Is the Never-Ending Search for Better
“The more I learned about games, the more frustrated I became because the games weren't very good,” recalls Tajiri. “I could tell a good game from a bad game. My conclusion was: let's make our own games.”

What Do Quarterbacks and Business Owners Have In Common?
It's that time of year when there is a lot of football on TV. Everything from college bowl games to professional playoffs. No matter which games you watch, it quickly becomes evident which team's quarterback (i.e. "QB") is better than the other, and usually that is the team that wins the game. How are you doing as the QB of your team (i.e. your company)? How do you measure up against all those other QBs (i.e. business owners)?

Lesson #3: “If you don’t have a lot of passion for it, you’re not gonna make it”
“I have probably the best personal collection of games you’re going to find anywhere,” admits Hawkins. “I’ve just been a nut for almost any form of software, but games especially whether it’s card games, board games, computer games, video games, I’ve just got a spectacular collection. And of course now I have four kids that are at different ages, so when we want to play, boy, we’ve just got a fantastic set of choices.”

Are your employees spending too much time on Twitter and Facebook?
When the internet was introduced to offices over a decade ago, employers were worried that employees would spend more time surfing the internet than they did working. The expression “cyber slacking” was born. In 2009, social networking sites such as Twitter and Facebook have taken the internet to a whole new level. No longer is the internet just used for reading content, now people can interact with their friends in real time whilst sitting at their desks. To further promote interaction, developers have come up with a vast array of applications where users can play games, send virtual gifts or compare themselves to a celebrity. Hey, you can even run your own virtual farm from the comfort of your office cubicle. Therefore, it is not surprising that employers are worried that no work will get done.

Insider #149 - Game Demographics
The blood, gore, adrenalin challenges that were unveiled at E3 and enjoyed at ComicCon are fun to look at, easy to hold but are they really the games people want to plunk down their credit cards to own or rent time with? Seems as though the investors, the players who control the controllers have a different idea of a "good" game than the kids who develop them. While mobs of people play educational, informational, stimulating games our kid huddles in his room and mumbles "The Few, The Proud, The Gamers." If we align the games with the real volume players, consumers we might stimulate more hardware, more bandwidth, more mobile, yes more software sales come the holidays.

Work From Home Business - Using the Internet To Earn Money
For many, the internet is still a place to tune into for games and chat, but for an increasing number of others the internet is used to operate their work from home business. These folks don't just use online communities and resources to stifle boredom but to earn an income. And several of them earn a lot.

Future of Online Games

Games for Team Building That Everyone Enjoys
Not all games for teambuilding are created equal. This article discusses three forms of team building activities. Knowing which form to use is the first step to creating events with games for team building that everyone enjoys.

We’re Starting to Take Virtual Sales to the Real Bank
We may have worked with Atari for over six years back in the real gaming system days but we never really had a long attention span -- long enough to play the games. We knew people who slept under their desks and lived on Coke/Twinkies when it was crash n burn to get games out. Folks still do but now they're talking serious money. So serious we people buy virtual goods/stuff with real money. Times have changed but the attraction of games hasn't. The games are more realistic, more immersive and more valuable. Serious men, women, boys, girls play them...serious men, women develop them...seriously there's a new breed of casual games !!!!

Writing for Profit and Pleasure
There is another form of writing that most people on todays internet seem to overlook, everyone seems set of producing written works that relate to some form of marketing or advertising, they seem to forget that not everyone on the internet is there to either learn marketing, join income opportunities or purchase products, some simply use the internet to play online games or to socialize.
