The global consulting group Towers Perrin has published their annual global study of employee engagement, which shows just how motivated people are to perform at their best.

Keeping pace in the industry is tough. Especially when you have to constantly go to your kids to ask for assistance. Of course now that they're teenagers they're old and often have to go next door and ask the new up-n-comers. It was bad enough when we used the DVR - which is so yesterday now that anything worthwhile is available online 24x7. But now it's assistance with our smartphone (like help me find the app we just downloaded), our tablet (ok iPad) WiFi syncing - forgive us but gawd we love the battery life, WiFi searching on the net-ready LCD screen(s), constant patches/updates for our notebook(s) and home server. Can't wait for tomorrow to see what new thing we don't know, don't really want to know but will have to learn just to stay in the game.

Annual Trust Barometer -- the lessons for Australian business.
Every year the world's largest PR firm conducts a significant study of trust and credibility. The 2009 Edelman Trust Barometer for the first time includes Australia. 74% of Australians surveyed trust companies less than a year ago -- 4th highest of 20 countries and above the global response of 62%. Only 39% of Australians trust companies to do what is right; much less than in all of our trading partners. Global response was 49%. 53% of Australians trust government to do what is right, well above their trust of Australian business, and the global figure of 44%.
