Concrete Ideas on How to Cope With Stress
| |
| Stress is just a part of life and can be found no matter where in the world you go. Is stress merely part of the inescapable human condition? Are we as a species chronically worried and unhappy, or does bad luck simply find us wherever we are? It’s not practical to believe that we are battling against Fate, Chance, or God. Stress does not happen to make our day unbearable. You could say that stress is a natural reaction to an action taken, the consequence of a causative event. For every action there is a reaction and often times the stress that we have to endure is the stress we bring upon ourselves by the choices we make. |

How to Stay in the Game for the Long Haul by Working in Success Cycles
| |
| My mentor taught me that by working in success cycles, you will stay in the game for the long haul. Just like nature works in seasons, there are also success cycles. There is a time to learn, a time to produce, a time to harvest and reap the rewards, and a time to rest. Most people live busy lives and try to squeeze in as many activities in the day as possible. We start the day working on one project, and then we get side tracked to do something else. A few hours later, we jump back into the same project we started with, but somehow lose the momentum and rhythm to do it. We try to multitask as much as possible. I’m not saying that we should stop multi-tasking, but sometimes we need to step back and perhaps focus on one thing at a time. We should learn how to work in success cycles. |

If You Want to Succeed … Have a Plan!
| |
| Ok well this isn't a trip journal, so I'll get to my point and how this all relates to what I have been writing about on this 30 day experiment.
I have already written about accountability, having a positive attitude, and setting goals to help improve your chances of success. Well, just like my trip out west, if you set a goal that you truly want to achieve, it would be silly to believe you can just do whatever you want to achieve that goal.
Sure you could just set the goal, think about it all the time, and do little tasks here and there that will help you advance towards the realization of that goal, but it would take you much longer to get there ... if you ever did. |

| It is absolutely essential to become proficient at goal setting and goal achieving if you wish to feel fulfilled and to fulfill your potential as a human being. The very act of writing down a goal is so powerful. Thinking about a goal isn’t enough; it must be written. Most people don't set goals because they are afraid they might fail. Goal setting gives you a target to aim towards and develops self-discipline. Let me share with you five keys that will help you do that. Each of these keys starts with one of the letters in the word "SCORE". You will come across obstacles in the pursuit of your goal. These are bigger opportunities to grow. |
