“Mary Kay Ash, founder of Mary Kay Cosmetics, once told me something I’ll never forget,” recalled Thomas. “She said the one suggestion she got in life that helped her most was to ‘pretend that every single person you meet has a sign around his or her neck that says, ‘Make me feel important.’”

More Than a Gut Feeling

Mary complained to HR and she was sent to a different office for 'better' training. She was unable to learn anything there, also. Her career in the travel industry was short, but expensive. Basically, she should never have been hired. Mary was very personable and she was probably hired on a 'gut feeling' that she would do well.

A Fresh Face in the World: Mary Kay Ash is Born

Today, Mary Kay Cosmetics Inc. continues to be a leader in the industry, with outlets in over 30 countries that are staffed by 1.6 million employees. |

Stop Procrastination and Take Action

Mary was a 'gunna'. She was 'gunna' do this and 'gunna' do that. Unfortunately all she can and still does do is talk about it. She won't make a decision. Money wasn't the issue, after all she had invested thousands of dollars attending an American guru's week long "life changing" bootcamp. She thought that would be her "magic lifechanging pill". Unfortunately Mary did not action what she had learned. She got caught up in her chaotic life immediately on her return.

Eliminating People Problems In Your Business

| Mary and Ken own a plumbing business employing 9 other people. They used to always complain about how irresponsible their 'boys' were. They wouldn't consistently fill in the correct paperwork . This caused many hours to be wasted by the two office girls and created issues on-site due to basic carelessness. It was obvious that both Mary and Ken were 'too busy' that they overlooked Meeting with your peoplethe basics with their people. Sam and Mary Lauderdale, Mary of Puddin Hill

I was inspired to write about Mary of Puddin Hill's company in Greenville, Texas for Mazon Associates, Inc. December 2011 newsletter, Building Bridges as our company purchased client Christmas gifts from Mary of Puddin Hill for the second consecutive year. Surprisingly, it just so happened that Mary Lauderdale's 86th birthday would have been on December 1st, the original date scheduled for publication; thus, a quick edit reflected this change. Most of this article was written from internet research; part from first-hand knowledge from their daughter, Pud Kearns; and from other research. I hope you will also be inspired by reading about this company.
