| A Sale is considered closed when the buyer and seller reach agreement on terms for the buyer to take ownership of a product or service. To get to this stage, the seller normally has to “close” the sale, by asking the buyer for their business. This is where the buyer raises “objections”. Objections generally fall into three main types. This article will explore the types of objection, how they arise and how to overcome and avoid them. Part II will then discuss the 10 most common objections, and how to handle them to close the sale. You must get the customer to reiterate the value that they are getting first and foremost. |

And the second point is - is this a boondoggle in the making? My understanding is that departments are not falling over themselves to buy in to this initiative. But they have to subscribe, at least on paper, if they want funding from Treasury Board. I suspect many departments are paying lip service, waiting to see how it will all unfurl. Does anyone have a good knowledge of what the real situation is? |

We speak of government as if it were our neighbor, pastor, teacher, friend or foe. It is none of these and yet it is all of these. Government, at any level, is simply an organizational structure and is incapable of any action or activity until people are inserted into the equation. Our founding fathers meant it when they said “of the people, by the people and for the people”
So the problem and/or solution lie with us.

I started my search on this topic at the source, the government. On the SBA website there are tutorials on how to apply for and win government contracts. By taking one of these convenient online courses all of my questions were answered. I want to share some of this information but I would also recommend that anyone interested in acquiring government contracts take this online course themselves. |

| The big news these days is the federal government’s debt ceiling. Every time Washington gets into one of these messes - which it does a lot - people renew the discussion about how government should be run. “If I ran my company the way they run the government…” The outcome is usually bankruptcy or prison.
