Will History Repeat Itself?
| |
| In the 1930s, the German government had printed so much currency that its money nearly lost its value. One story tells of a woman who pulled a wheelbarrow full of money to buy some bread. When she came out of the baker's to get her money to pay for the bread, someone had stolen her wheelbarrow and left the money. |

Michigan Workers’ Compensation Costs Have Risen Drastically Due To Explosive Growth In Health Care Costs
| |
| The number of claims filed are not primarily responsible for rising workers’ comp costs because many workers remain uninformed about their rights to benefits for workplace injury or occupational diseases. The fact is that almost all employers know far more about workers’ comp law than does the average employee. Although many employers are honest and well-intended, there are far, far too many unethical employers who will cheat their workers out of entitled benefits.

An Advocate for the Little Guy: How CABiNET has provided an Important Voice for High-Tech SMEs in Canada (CABiNET Profile)
| |
| “Shared Services is different from the diametrically opposite model of Outsourcing which is where an external third party is paid to provide a service that was previously internal to the buying organization, typically leading to redundancies and re-organization. There is an on-going debate about the advantages of Shared Services over outsourcing. It is sometimes assumed that a joint venture between a government department and a commercial organization is an example of Shared Services but in fact they are quite different. The joint venture involves the creation of a separate legal commercial entity (jointly owned) which provides profit to its shareholders. It is difficult to see what is being shared rather than bought. Such joint ventures are really a form of outsourcing.”

SBA\'s Role
| |
| The U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA) is an independent Agency of the Executive Branch of the Federal Government. It is charged with the responsibility of providing four primary areas of assistance to American Small Business. These are: Advocacy, Management, Procurement, and Financial Assistance. Financial Assistance is delivered primarily through SBA’s Investment programs, Business Loan Programs, Disaster Loan Programs, and Bonding for Contractors. |

Government Business Grants in Canada. Are They a Myth?
| |
| Bureaucrats are famous or infamous depending upon your perspective, for lacking knowledge of what goes on outside of their own departments/agencies. Often they are not aware of the programs of another division within their own departments. Many government programs provide funding that is non - repayable but are not called grants. Some government departments finance third party sectoral or community based organizations to administer funding on their behalf. All of thes reasons may lead one to believe there are no grants available. Guess again.

How Can I Win Government Contracts? Part 1
| |
| I know the government has specific initiatives to recruit and hire small business contractors for governmental projects but how can I get these jobs? I started my search on this topic at the source, the government. On the SBA website there are tutorials on how to apply for and win government contracts. By taking one of these convenient online courses all of my questions were answered. I want to share some of this information but I would also recommend that anyone interested in acquiring government contracts take this online course themselves. |

Personal Responsibility: Make Your Own Job
| |
| Our nation is locked in one of the greatest ideological battles in its history. Some want the government to do more for people, and spend more on social programs such as unemployment. Others see a terrific threat in tax-and-spend tactics that leave us with an unbelievable national debt. Even if we could handle the debt in future generations, will our government's current "stimulus" (bail-out) strategy really accomplish anything positive? Will people have the motivation and inspiration to create and achieve things when the burden of taxes is higher than any of us has heretofore seen? Will we become so dependent on government programs (like unemployment) that we lose both the will and the ability to earn our own livings? Over time, these are clearly dangers.

Government Takeover Will Continue
| |
| Our current government will keep taking over as many aspects of American life as they can, attacking freedom wherever they see it and installing socialist programs in its place, until we stand up and take our government back. It's supposed to be "by, of, and for the People" - it's time we put things to rights.

Personal Responsibility: Protect Your Wealth
| |
| There's a global conspiracy against wealth today. It isn't obvious - no conspiracy is - but the signs are there if you know what to look for. A "jobless recovery"... a collapsing dollar... runaway government spending... bloated "zombie" entitlement programs that've long eclipsed the policies they were originally intended to implement and now exist with the sole purpose of furthering their own existence... these are all indicators of the worldwide march away from economic freedom and toward collectivist state control. If and when the conversion to global socialism is completed (and the current liberal U.S. government is sprinting as fast as they can toward that day), wealth will be sin, and it will be too late to protect what you've worked for.... |

Investors: Jump on the “Green” Bandwagon
| |
| There are a variety of rebates, tax incentives and credits for those who rehab their investment properties in this manner. While it is usually more expensive to purchase “green” materials, in the long run it will be cheaper because of the many government programs designed to attract environmentally friendly projects. In my opinion, if you don’t mind dealing with the pace of government agencies, you can effectively profit from such an approach. |

If Business Ran Like the Government
| |
| The big news these days is the federal government’s debt ceiling. Every time Washington gets into one of these messes - which it does a lot - people renew the discussion about how government should be run. “If I ran my company the way they run the government…” The outcome is usually bankruptcy or prison. Should government be run like a business? That’s a debate for another article. But, the surprising thing is many business ARE run like the government. Do you understand how to manage cash flow in your business? Does your company cater to special interests, waste money or time or push problems aside instead of addressing the real issue? |
