| Troubling economic times are tough on everyone and they call for leaders of others to be wise, stay cool and retain a spirit of optimism about the future. This is just another tough economic cycle that, in my opinion, was unnecessarily brought about by greed, crookedness and incompetence on the part of a some of our governmental and business leaders and unqualified home buyers. | Good leaders expand the horizons of what is possible through a stream of ideas. They make work worthwhile. They go beyond knowledge and skills and evaluate, counsel, and place people using a framework of values and critical-to-work behaviors. They ensure process improvements. Great leaders develop good leaders by investing their expertise and time in people. Such great leaders regenerate their organizations. They are truly regenerative leaders. |

| Secretary of State Hilary Clinton’s visit last week has been dubbed by some the High Technology Cooperation Dialogue. Pressed by Indian governmental and business leaders about what it sees as an increasingly protectionist stance in the U.S., Clinton pledged support for working with India for better high-tech relations, but offered no specifics.
"Outsourcing is a concern for many communities and businesses in my country, so how we handle that is something that we’re very focused on doing in a way that doesn’t disrupt the great flow of trade and services that go between our countries," Clinton said in an interview on Indian television. |

| Forget those age old days where people were neither serious nor willing to peruse a career in an NGO (non-governmental organization) sector. They planned to work with an NGO only after their retirement and hence it never became a good career ground for them. However, with increased professionalism, ample growth opportunities, and a challenging career ahead, there has been a quantum change in the thought process of young aspirants who today foresees the NGO sector as a great hotspot for future career aspirations. Moreover, with so much industrialization and developments happening everyday, this sector also needs future leaders who have a vision and a mission to serve the society and fight for its justice. |

| My favorite saying is "The highest calling for any leader is to grow other leaders." Observation: There are too few outstanding leaders in this world because of the lack of great mentors to bring them along. Top level leaders are so consumed with trying to optimize performance in a frantic and messy world, that often they do not take the time out to nurture the next generation of leaders. I believe that is a huge mistake.
