Why You Need a Success Mindset
You hear it all the time: Success is a state of mind. Some would argue that success is a natural result of proper planning, preparation and focused action – and that viewpoint certainly holds a grain of truth. But there are also many exceptions to disprove that "rule." Have you ever wondered how two people can attempt the same objective in the same way and only one of them succeed? Is it sheer luck? Timing? Tenacity? More often than not, it's a person's mindset that determines whether they fail or succeed.

Are You Kissing Frogs Or Making Sales?
Most of us were taught "You have to kiss many frogs before you meet the handsome prince." The problem is you've probably applied this philosophy to getting business as well! When I first started selling years ago, I was told the exact same thing. My boss actually threw the Yellow Pages on my desk and said "Go Get 'Em Kid!" (I kid you not)

To know yourself, know your shadow
It is a common experience. You speak to a friend about some strong negative feelings you have about someone else. Your friend, being a true friend, says, "but aren't you a bit like that too?" You of course don't like to hear this, but it gets you thinking. Maybe you can be a bit like it too. That's a useful admission since it then helps you to manage that characteristic in yourself. This is the sort of self-awareness that is crucial to our growth, to get that the people in our lives are in some way a mirror of ourselves. The concept of the shadow, from Carl Jung, is one of the great insights from 20th century psychology that is invaluable to those of us who seek to build effective relationships with others.

To Tell the Truth
If you are a baby boomer, “To Tell the Truth” refers to a TV show where 4 quasi-celebrity panelists ask questions of three guests to and try anddetermine which guest is telling the truth out of bold-faced untruths. . The interviewers identify the truth-teller by watching body language and eye movement and listening for clues.

Organizational Illusions
Truth-a proper and clear understanding of reality-is the key to success in organizations, teams, relationships, and careers. In fact, the departure point for all achievement is a relentless commitment to truth-truth about who we are, where we're headed, where the market is going, what our customers want, what our core competencies are (and whether anyone cares), what our core limitations are (and whether anyone can help us), and what our employees are thinking.

The truth is out there! How to take advantage of it
I find the concept of truth fascinating. Just like one person’s act of terror is another person’s freedom fight, one person’s truth is another person’s fantasy. Rumours are sometimes said with such conviction or spread so far that they become a “truth” no matter what the reality is. Without getting too political, the weapons of mass destruction in Iraq is a classic example of a truth that was fantasy. Can we make our version of the truth and if we can will this help us in life and business?

Accept the Truth about Yourself
You must drill down to the core of your heart to find the real truth about you as a person. The real truth is always much better than your truth about you. Generally, the way others see you is much better than the way you see yourself. Change your self-paradigm and accept the truth about yourself-that is how you will begin to grow and achieve differently. As your belief in yourself increases, so does your ability to accomplish anything your heart desires. Your life will become much richer.

Lessons to be Learned When Politicians Attack the Media
Politicians who gripe about the media should be taken with a grain of salt. Because they weren't complaining about agendas and getting the story wrong when the media wrote positive stories about them. This article provides some lessons, regardless of your political views, based on the recent skirmish between President Obama and Fox News.

Are Your Employees Really Telling You the Truth: 3 Ways to Tell?
Do you ever wonder if your employees are telling the truth, the whole truth, nothing but the truth? Here are some tips on truth telling for everyone and how to ask lots of great questions to get to the heart of the matter.

Network Marketing? You Can Only Go So Far on "Stretching the Truth!"
Don't "stretch the truth". I can't tell you how many marketing campaigns I see that "stretch the truth" to sell their products. Ok, perhaps I can, it's a lot. A whole bunch. A gigantic number. But just because they do it doesn't mean you have to. After all, I would like to still believe that at the end of the day honesty, truth, hard work, and a good product win. Perhaps that is "old fashioned" but I don't care.

Turning Problems into Marketing Strategies
Most industries impose an unseen tax on participants trying to stand out, go against that grain or do the right thing or hard thing.

OPTIONS IN THE MEDIA…
It pays to be a contrarian. You need to look no further than two great college football coaches. Don’t be afraid to go against the grain in decision making as long as you have the courage in your convictions as a leader and the personnel to fit your system. You can become the Paul Johnson or Urban Meyer of your industry.
