Special Olympics
The Special Olympics really touch my heart. One of my granddaughters, Elizabeth, is a special 22 year old. She is one of the most beautiful, loving and funny people I have ever known and because we have been blessed to have her in our family a whole new world has opened up to us.
Making the Time
One time we were keeping Timmy, a young cat with a long, fluffy tail for our granddaughter, Sunshine. Somehow he went missing and we spent a considerable amount of time and energy looking for that cat before he was found. That’s typical. Most people pull out all stops to recover a pet or a treasured relationship. We would “do anything” to change some things or to have them back.
Better Together
During the Beijing Olympics, beach volleyball players Misty May-Treanor and Kerri Walsh were undefeated in their second gold medal Olympics, with an amazing record of 108 consecutive wins. Watching the advancing duo during the Olympic coverage, I heard commentators mention that when either woman was asked during interviews which one of them was better, they responded, "We're better together."

It takes more than good looks, "smarts", contacts and a great idea to be a business success, it takes persistence.

Don't drop that egg! While at the Nashville Zoo with my granddaughter, we watched as the zookeeper offered to let small children hold an ostrich egg. These amazing eggs are approximately 24 times the size of a chicken egg and weigh about 3 pounds. But rather than embracing a once-in-a-lifetime experience, almost without exception the parental caution was - "Now, don't drop that egg."

This past weekend, my 5-year-old granddaughter, come down the stairs. She had her cute little blue ruffled swimsuit on, and a beach towel in her hand.Granted we live in California and it was a sunny day but it still was too cold, in my mind to go swimming. “Wotcha doing?” I asked, as if I didn’t know. “I’m going swimming,” she answers, and out she went. I followed behind. I was sure she would decide it was just to cold to get in. But no, she jumped in without a second’s hesitation with both feet. In just a few seconds she jumped out, wrapped herself in the towel and warmed up. As soon as she was a little warm, back into the pool she went. Successful online business owners embrace being uncomfortable.
