“Only those who are asleep make no mistakes,” says Kamprad. “There are few people who have made so many fiascos in my life as I have.”

Lesson #3: Make Your Product As Personal As Possible
Jenny Craig’s success did not lie just in the fact that the program combined athletic activity with its own prepared foods. Craig had a secret that kept customers coming back for more. If all her years in the industry had taught her one thing, it was this: the road to weight loss was a difficult one and people needed all the support they could get along the way. To that end, Craig made it her number one priority to engage her clients, making the program as interactive and supportive as possible to keep them motivated and paying!

Major Benefits of Using An Outside Facilitator
Are you and your team, task force, committee, or any other working group struggling with issues and divergent viewpoints? Do you attend meetings that take up hours of your time but do not produce actionable plans at the conclusion of the meetings? I believe a majority of you answered YES to both questions. So what is my advice to you? My advice is to use an outside facilitator!

Centering: Purpose and Phrases for a Group
This article suggests ways to talk about how to focus group participants for more meaningful meetings and other group experiences.

The Black Hole of the Workplace
How many times have you heard, “that meeting was a waste of my time”? To understand the dynamics of meetings, read on. It’s more than Roberts Rules, way more!! It’s about the relationships in the room and how we all struggle and want to be a part of the group, the ‘in crowd’ as we used to say. Maybe we still say that!! And it’s about how we learned to manage relationships and where we learned this. Explore how you feel about meetings and your role in creating meetings of collaboration and trust.

Never Leave a Meeting Feeling Good
Do your meetings result in everyone feeling good after they leave? Does very little get done in your meetings? If so, your meetings function like most, and they are probably worthless! Most often leaders are concerned with there being too many meetings, or meetings being too long, or some other wrong measurement. I would like to suggest that you change your measurement systems. For example, a good leading indicator that something important is being discussed is conflict. Other indicators of good meetings are the number of decisions made and the number of people held accountable for decisions made at the prior meetings. These are real indicators that your meetings are worthwhile. If you have a really good meeting, then everyone leaves feeling uncomfortable because there is so much more to be done, and they have a stake in it!

New Ways to Meet - Strategies For Virtual Teams and Alternatives to Face-To-Face Meetings
There is no doubt about it - meetings take up a good amount of our time on a weekly basis. Think back for a minute on all the time you spent in meetings this past year - whether they were one-on-one meetings or a group meeting in a conference room. WOW, that's a lot of time spent meeting! Was it all necessary? And how much time was spent traveling to and from those meetings? Would some of them have been just as effective without everyone in the same physical place?

Are We Online Network Marketers Destined To Become Members Of The Lonely Hearts Club Band?
At times as we work our network marketing businesses, we can get a feeling of loneliness. Gone are the traditional ways we market our business having meetings practically every night of the week. These meetings being replaced by online webinars and conference calls. Gone too are the social “meetings after the meetings”.

The Dreaded Monday Morning Sales Meeting
Do They GET TO GO or HAVE TO GO? For years as a speaker/trainer/coach, salespeople have approached me with feedback regarding their regular company sales meetings. This is what I hear: -The meetings are boring with little to no direction -The meetings turn into individual gripe sessions -The meetings turn into complaint sessions by management -The meetings tend to “bring down” the reps rather than “pump up” the reps -The meetings tend to be filled with reports, data, stats, and rules -The meetings never start on time -The meetings never follow an agenda -The meetings never end on time Does any of this sound familiar to you? Do your people tend to “go through the motions” in your sales meetings? Do they complain about having to come to these meetings regularly? Do you sometimes agree with them?

Building A Winning Team – Making Decisions Stick
Many leaders complain that they hate to go to meetings because they are non-productive. It is common to find that decisions taken at meetings do not stick. Instead, group decisions at meetings become the subjects of post-meeting lobbying.

Can This Networking Group Help Me Build My Business?
So many of my clients tell me they go to a networking meeting or two but give up because nothing happens. My response is usually that you must give the group a fair trial. Building relationships takes time so you will need to attend a few meetings of one organization to see any progress. That said however some organizations may just be wrong for you and the sooner you decide that the less time you will waste and the faster you can move on to a group that will work for you. Here are some questions to ask yourself in order to evaluate the group.

TAKING A RISK!
I was in San Francisco for a week of meetings with my business coach and master mind group. We were all given an assignment - and were told to come prepared to present to the whole group. I had a different task in that I am working on a new strategy/presentation style when it comes to public speaking and sales.
