A positive work-out for your brain for business owners and would-be business owners alike
There are many of us that go to the gym to give our bodies a work-out, but how many of you give you mind a work-out too? I would hazard a guess that not many people give their brain a physical work-out; there are those of you that have bought the "Nintendo Brain Tease", which is said to help our brains and our memory. However, this is not many people that even do this and what I have in mind is to change your thinking to a positive mode of thinking, so here goes my idea for a brain work out: 1. Each day you wake up make sure you "Think in a positive way". Begin your day with a big smile and take your mind off to a lovely place, a special place you would love to be. This could be a Caribbean Island or by your favourite lake, it does not matter, all that matters is that when you think about this place it makes you feel really good.

What it Takes to Get More Appointments
Without question, the most popular requests I receive each week are for help with making appointments and, specifically, creating positioning statements. For example, Pat and I traded about 6 emails over the past 10 days to get his positioning statements just right. But what if you nail your positioning statement but you're still struggling to get appointments? My guess is that you're doing one of the following things ineffectively...

How to Write for the Web – A Step by Step Blueprint for Writing Killer Copy (Part 3/3)
This is the last part of the series and I want to share with you some amazing tips to convert website visitors into customers and customers into long-term clients. Why Should I Believe You? Your visitors don’t know you. Give them a good reason to believe you. The most common way of doing this is with testimonials. They are great because your customers’ word, unlike yours, is unbiased. If you can, get video testimonials. Audio testimonials work great too. If you have written testimonials at least include a photo of your customer and the city they live in, website, and any other relevant information. Testimonials signed by “John M.” are not very credible.

The Amazing Power of Deliberate Focus
Isn't it amazing how masterful we can become at denial, procrastination, and avoidance, constantly making excuses for why we aren't accomplishing the goals WE SAY WE WANT! A lot of energy gets wasted in this department. Usually there is far more talking and not enough doing. Far from criticizing, I believe many people generally have good intentions. Though it's maddening when I hear someone say it... I just don't have time... I honestly believe they think they don't have enough time or can't have it all.

Smart Women Have No Boundaries
This article is about the “imaginary boundaries” that we create around our lives that keep us from realizing our Big Ideas, Dreams and Goals. We grow up with lessons and values passed on to us by our family and early teachers. Sometimes these lessons contain messages that can keep us “stuck” mentally in a place where we cannot access what we need from ourselves to accomplish our goals. We are capable of so much but yet we can have limited thinking.

Your Best Summer Ever
As Brian Tracy has advocated for years, when you work, work flat-out. Work hard! Work smart! Work with full concentration and full attention.

Building Your Own Business but Wary of the ‘S’ Word?
“Selling” has gotten a bad rap! We’ve all experienced obnoxious salespeople who have turned us off…made us cringe…and even stopped us from pursuing a purchase we really wanted. Have you ever really, really wanted something…like a new car…but dreaded the sales experience so much that you’d sooner wait until your car broke down? If we ourselves have had poor experiences with salespeople, how can we expect to enjoy becoming one? But then again, how can we expect to grow our business without becoming one? The truth is…we can’t…so let’s bite the bullet and figure this “selling” thing out.

Saying Yes, Saying No
If we were to float up and hover above our daily life and look at all the things that make it up. At all the people and things that are part of it. At what we do with each minute of our 24 hours, each and every day. How much of it would we feel we had chosen?

What are your Signs Saying about your Company?
The other day I was driving down highway 55 in New Jersey doing about 70 in the passing lane. I looked in my rearview mirror and there is a van on my tail, very close, specially at 70. Now all I am trying to do is pass a few slower cars, I brake light him a bit, but instead of getting off my butt, he gets closer. I use to be a hot head, but now I think I am wiser, so I slow down and pull into the other lane. The guy zooms past me – ABC Plumbing*. Guess who is not going to be a customer of theirs.

Wisdom Is Knowing What We Don't Know
Comprehension, as most people understand it, is not a strength but rather a weakness. People often presuppose wrongly that everyone has the same comprehension as they do. Arrogance insists that our vision of the "facts" is the right one. Humility demands that we be aware of how much of our own personal interpretation goes into our vision of reality. We begin to have real comprehension once we realize that our perspective may not be the only valid one.
