Chris Gardner Pursuit of Happiness
| |
| Even before “the pursuit of happiness” became one of the most famous phrases in the U.S. Declaration of Independence, mankind worldwide had been on a quest to chase down this elusive goal. Time, Money and Life-Balance, Part 3 Life-Balance

The Secret of Happiness
| |
| Happiness has become a hot scientific topic over the last two decades. Recently the BBC presented a six part series called The Happiness Formula. This series covered topics such as:
1. Think yourself happy
2. The politics of happiness
3. The power of happiness
4. The happiness recipe
The scientific tests supporting the series suffered, to some extent, because happiness relies upon the subjective self assessment by an individual of their own happiness rather than an objective measure. However, that suggests that happiness is something that can be objectively measured and that may not be so. Perhaps each of us have our own definition of happiness that are all equally valid.

Happiness is only a thought away
| |
| Do you want to be happy in your life? Not the constant blissed out happiness of flower children, but genuine happiness on a day to day basis. Happiness is only a thought away. What do I mean by that? One of the key indicators of how happy you feel is how optimistic you are and one of the causes of optimism is how you talk to yourself. In a previous issue, we talked about your internal guidance system and touched on self talk. This month I would like to explore this concept a bit further. |

Is My Happiness Where I Really Think It is?
| |
| I have discovered that the topic of "happiness" is one of those taboo subjects that people don't want to talk about or get uncomfortable around. Which really is unfortunate because that same discussion could lead to some new information that could shift everything.
Happiness, like anything else worth having, needs to be evaluated, needs to be worked on, needs new information and tools to pave the way for a greater level of happiness and requires our attention and commitment. Happiness is something to get excited about, not something to be feared or resisted. And happiness is available to everyone regardless of any current or existing circumstances. Now that's exciting.
If you are open to some new infromation, please read the article. Warning: The reading of this article can cause more happiness! |

7 Keys to Profound Happiness
| |
| These days my happiness quotient feels like it's sailing off the charts. Maybe it seems I'm always rather cheerful. Trust me, I've ridden my share of emotional roller coasters. I've prided myself in being "very human," which -- in my mind -- meant feeling every human emotion. But, maybe my husband is right. Maybe HAPPINESS IS the default state. Maybe if all resistance is simply removed from life, happiness naturally emerges. Somehow, it seems to be flowing steadily into my life.
So why AM I so deliriously happy? Great question. This is the very question I was asking myself last week. What is different? There are several distinct elements which have come together. I imagine if you focused on these elements...you'd be deliriously happy too. |

The Secret to Business Happiness
| |
| A recent study revealed that the key to human happiness is the ability to live in the moment and place less emphasis on both the future and the past. This unique tendency of the human animal and our obsessive preoccupation with the past and the future are significant burdens that limit our happiness during life. The study indicates that both our stress over past events and worry about the future have a negative impact on our current happiness. Furthermore, the ability to live in the current moment and search for the contentment of the present is a critical key to deliberate joy and happiness.
