HAVE WE LOST OUR MORAL COMPASS?
Would I be overstating it if I went out on a limb and made the bold assertion that we have lost our moral compass? And as a part of that observation say that we have been holding up the wrong people as our heroes and role models for far too long! And it only seems to be getting worse. As a population in North America we are losing our ability to discern the difference between right and wrong, fair or unfair, just or unjust and be willing to take a stand and declare ourselves.

We have many equally important business functions competing for time slots. This is the management task of deciding who does what, where and when. In large organizations, this will mean handing over responsibilities and the authority to suitable persons and departments. In many of our smaller organizations, this means wearing one hat for the hour or day, and wearing different hats during the other hours and the other days. Either way, keep the hats stylish and comfortable. Nobody wants to wear a frumpy hat.

To direct, direct yourself. Think about what motivates you. Is it much different from what motivates those you need to direct? Employees who are properly stimulated, who are motivated, poked and provoked to surpass their job performance expectations will help you reach the company goals. They teach you things of value along the way. "Here is how you do it" is learned day by day as you do it.

The Heroes Control Their Business
Control. Creative problem solving works well. Control is good, positive, with purpose. Management needs to be in control. Love is the most powerful force in the universe. We have this power within us. We give it and receive it, try to understand it, share and use it every day interacting and communicating with each other. We try to be less barbaric and more gracious. Some days are better than others.
