Driving along the highway to my next client appointment this morning, I was stuck behind a huge dump truck for a while, as the traffic inched along. The truck was carrying a large load of fresh garden soil, probably top soil destined for the flower beds of one of the large condo developments along that part of the highway. Don't Become Part of the Information Highway Road Kill. Road kill refers to the animals that have been struck by a motor vehicle and killed. You can rarely go on the highway without seeing roadkill. The animals are in the wrong place at the wrong time and fast moving motor vehicles can't always avoid hitting these unfortunate animals. The Internet is often been referred to as the information highway and it has its own version of roadkill. What If You Could?
As a student of psychology, I’m often fascinated by what makes the most successful people in America different than the rest. It is interesting to note that the top 20% of our citizens control fully 94% of the country’s wealth. So what is it that makes them soar while the rest flounder near the ground? I think I might have an answer. I don’t think that millionaires are necessarily smarter or even more risk-tolerant than other people. I think they simply see more opportunities for wealth creation than the rest of us. They find more ways to win because they don’t worry about losing.

If you are traveling on an extended road trip along a divided highway, there are two sets of cars. There are the cars on your side of the road going the same direction that you are, and there are those on the opposite side of the road going the other way. If you were to stop at a rest stop to inquire about weather or road conditions ahead, you would not want to ask those traveling the same way you were. Instead, you would want to ask those traveling in the opposite direction, because they have already been where you are going.

Choosing Our Poison or Choosing to Let Go
I am running late for an important appointment and speeding down a two-lane highway. Suddenly I come up behind a garbage truck lumbering along well below the speed limit. The highway is full of oncoming traffic, curves, and hills so I can't pass. If I start to get angry, pound the steering wheel, and really work myself into lather about this, who is in control of my emotions at this point - a garbage truck or me?
