The Truth About Celebrity Branding(tm)
A Note from Nick & Jack: This month to celebrate the launch of our book, Celebrity Branding You™ we decided to include the first chapter of the book for you to review. Although we are giving it to you for free, please don’t think that is has no value and just throw it aside. Please use this chapter to get you started on the path to creating your celebrity status. We hope you enjoy it and welcome any feedback you may have!

The Power of Connecting
You have the power to connect with consumers based on the fact that you share similar traits. We all know that you can’t connect on a personal level with every consumer and, arguably, you shouldn’t try, but you’ve got a better shot at it than anyone else. You know more about your product or service than anyone else and you probably have a great deal more passion for what you do than a Celebrity who just shows up for a paycheck.

Counting Coup and Finding New Customers
When you’re looking for new business, the object is to meet and greet as many people as possible. This sounds more daunting than it really is. Counting coup is the game I play with my inner self.

Look out for the new shiny object
As entrepreneurs, we sometimes are too quick to follow the new shiny object.

Business Lessons Learned At The Mall
No offense to my mall merchant brothers and sisters, but a trip into the deepest jungle is more appealing to me than a trip to the mall. I get no joy out of trudging from store to store, attempting to communicate with salespeople from other planets, browsing discount racks of last season's dollar merchandise and peering into windows at mannequins that seem to be in some sort of inanimate pain (why can't they make a happy mannequin?).

The ADVANTAGE Of Object Oriented Software
We've probably heard of object-oriented software and the advantages it provides over other methods of software development. However unless we've done some computer programming we're probably none the wiser about its advantages or even what it is. And if we've done some programming we may still wonder whether object-orientation provides any advantages at all or simply makes things more complex.

Software Development The Way GOD Does It
In the beginning God created the universe and filled it with objects. He gave each object a set of attributes and placed it in a particular location in the universe where it occupies some space. Each object has been given the ability to do some stuff and communicate with other objects around it by sending and receiving messages. An object is able to do some stuff by itself (including create other objects) but for other stuff it needs to send messages to other objects asking for help. And some stuff it can only do if it's asked to by other objects.

Inertia, It’s Not a River in Egypt
I just looked up inertia on Wikipedia: "... the resistance of an object to a change in its state of motion [...] inertia means that an object will always continue moving at its current speed and in its current direction until some force causes its speed or direction to change."

Consistently Produce Your Desired Results
What is the difference between effectiveness and efficiency? The definition of effective reads “producing a decided, decisive, or desired effect”. The term efficiency is usually associated with machinery or science. The word efficient is defined as “productive of desired effects and productive without waste”. When an inanimate object is performing its function as directed, it is often said to be efficient. This is why many definitions include the term “without waste.”

Start New Today … Be A Thermostat Not a Thermometer
No ... I promise you I haven't lost my mind, nor am I encouraging you to "shape shift" into an inanimate object. One thing each of us can be assured of in life is that we'll all experience a roller coaster of events and emotions that accompany those events. People we love will die, people we work with will be dishonest and take credit for the things we do, and companies who we absolutely knew were going to buy from us ... won't. You can be assured that in business you'll experience just as much good as you will bad. Wow ... how uplifting huh?

Personal Responsibility: What Entitles You?
... What I got to take away with me was a bloody leg, a great story to tell, and another pointed object lesson on the power of maintaining an attitude of self-reliance and personal responsibility.

You are destined to succeed and be joyous...just Think!
Is it the physical object that gets us pleasure and happiness, or something else?
