Motivate Yourself to Success
| |
| Motivation is direction or focus toward a goal or mission that is fueled by energy and enthusiasm. It is the key to success in any venture. Motivation is like the motor in a car. The car is not moving unless the motor is running. Unless, of course, the car is coasting or being towed! True motivation comes when your own internal motor is driving you toward your goals, not when you are coasting or being pulled along by another’s direction. Let’s take a closer look at the key aspects of personal motivation. |

HRM and the Quality of Work-life
| |
| Coercion in the workplace can certainly get things done. It can even yield more productivity in some cases. This type of ‘direct action management’, i.e. ‘kicking’ people to do what is required of them. Such an approach to motivation would be like kicking a dog each time you want it to move. Likewise, you can charge an individual’s battery, and keep on charging and recharging it to get things done, but it is only when that individual has his own generator that we can talk about ‘self-motivation’, the internal generator that automatically recharges employees batteries.

GROW TOMORROW’S LEADERS TODAY
| |
| A critical factor in the leadership development of your high potential(HIPO) talent is the provision of customised development plans.
Research conducted by the Corporate Leadership Council1 in 2005 showed that, while the presence or absence of a development plan seems to have no impact on motivation or retention of highly talented employees, the quality of a development plan (if present) in terms of being customised to the individual and being achievable has a large impact on motivation and retention. Indeed, the opposite also holds true – a development plan that is not credible negatively impacts motivation and retention.

5 Ways to Motivate Your Salespeople
| |
| I believe that motivation is very misunderstood. You can't motivate by being a cheerleader, nor can you motivate by reciting somebody else's inspirational quotes. Motivation comes from within and you must find out what your salespeople's internal motivators are. Why are they doing this thing called selling?
The other thing that's important to know is that everyone reacts differently to motivation and motivation takes may forms. For instance, perhaps you have some people who respond to one of these methods when trying to get them to perform: |

Motivating Others
| |
| People are self-motivated. The task is to find out what needs and values motivate the individual internally, or more importantly, how to select people who will be naturally motivated by what the environment and job offers. Check out the list of questions to ask.
It is an interesting paradox that as a parent, manager, supervisor, or owner, you can stifle motivation, but you cannot create it. If a person has been motivated in the past, but is not now, something may be going on at work or home which is stifling the person’s motivation. |

Motivation, motivation, motivation

| I have long argued that the big, secret advantage that authentic businesses have over regular businesses is motivation. Not just the internal motivation of staff, but the motivation of customers and other stakeholders to support the business. |

The Most Important Sales Leadership Discipline to Motivating Sales Teams
| |
| Sales team motivation can be an easy task, especially when appropriate disciplines are demonstrated by the sales leader. That is when employee motivation happens naturally.
It is kind of like “monkey see, monkey do” approach.
Motivation, no matter if it is self motivation or employee motivation, is defined as a motive to act. What motivates you and gets you to act, does not necessarily mean it will work for others, or lead to employee motivation.
No one can motivate you, only you can motivate yourself. You cannot motivate others. As a sales team leader all you can do is demonstrate appropriate behaviours and create an environment where employees motivate themselves

Motivation-How to Get It, Enhance It and Keep It

Building Confidence at Work
| |
| Should building confidence at work be your concern? Why should you invest in making people feel better about themselves? Surely it is up to the individual to deal with this in his or her own way?
Unfortunately, you cannot afford to ignore this any longer, as what we are now discovering is that an individual’s lack of confidence and belief in themselves impacts on everyone around them, and ultimately the organisation as a whole. Lowered motivation, decreased productivity and fewer profit margins develop in direct proportion to lack of initiative taken by a Company in addressing this. Simply put lack of confidence is blocking motivation, attitude and ultimately performance in some workplaces here in NZ.
