When Charney filed for bankruptcy it was because American Apparel was suffering from a lack of one thing: efficiency. What is good selling?
Like many people, I have always been curious about what makes "great sales performance". This is a perplexing question that has been asked and attempted to be answered by many people over the years. Also, are great sales people born? (most people believe this to be true - but it's not). What does it take to be an elite sales performer, and can anyone learn how to sell well?

What is POS or Retail management software and why it is required?
“The term speaks for itself”. POS or Point-of-Sale software is used at location where goods are sold to customers. All sales transaction are made through the software and stored in computer. You provide information like item description, selling price, quantity sold, amount of discount given, tax collected and a few more. As the computer records everything, it automates all kind of tasks for you. For example, it gives you a few reports on key tips such as sales for the day, day end report, tax registers, stock statement and more for any specified period. This is just and example of POS software but there’s lot more to it.

The Marketing MYTH Of Modularity
The division of business software into separate "modules" is an arbitrary concept designed to create a false impression. It allows software suppliers to charge us different fees based on the features we want even though all the features are normally present and just the ones we haven't paid for are disabled. It also leads us to the mistaken belief that software is more robust and flexible when it's developed in a "modular" fashion.

The overuse of "people" as competitive advantage
A short piece focusing on having the right systems in place to effectively manage your talent, and thereby provide competitive advantage, rather than constantly focusing solely on the recruitment of individual talent alone.

Member Question: I recently read one of Forrest Breyfogle’s new books in his 4 book-volume series on the Integrated Enterprise Excellence (IEE) System; i.e., "The Integrated Enterprise Excellence System: An Enhanced, Unified Approach to Balanced Scorecards, Strategic Planning, and Business Improvement." The subtitle to this book describes what is covered in varying details in the other three volumes. My sense is that Breyfogle has pushed his (and our) thinking to the next level and addressed issues that many of us struggle with regarding Continuous Improvement efforts. His “Integrated Enterprise” thinking makes sense to me, what are your thoughts or feedback?

Winning Sales by Understanding Your Sales Process -
Your Present Selling System. If you’re in a business that is more than a few years old, it is a certainty that someone within that business has developed a system – or a habit - of selling that works for your market – if only in part. Does it stand to reason then that, if you understood the system you have evolved to sell your product (we’ll use “product” to include services), you may be able to use that understanding to improve or optimise your system – and increase your sales thereby?
