7 Quick n Easy Steps to Create Videos That Impress
We’re adding a lot of video to our websites now. We all know (based on what every guru I’ve studied says), that videos can sometimes dramatically boost conversion rates on sales copy, websites and/or landing pages. Carlos Garcia, for example, created a report that showed how adding a video to one of his websites and changing a couple of things boosted sales rates from 1.6 to 3.3 –that’s almost doubling the initial sales rates. I’ve had to write numerous video scripts lately for different websites, and because at MindValley we like processes and automation, I came up with a process for writing these scripts. It integrates a lot of ideas from Robert Cialdini, from Frank Kern, from Kenneth Yu, and from Jeff Walker.

Deep Breath
This morning, as I cranked through my 5am – 7am routine (which ends at 6am today because I have to leave the house at 630am to get to CU Boulder to give a keynote at the 2011 Boulder Economic Summit) I kept thinking to myself “deep breath.” If you do yoga you know exactly what I’m talking about – it’s part of Amy’s mantra for each of us to relax, slow down, and concentrate.

Get On The Phone to Get More Business
It is a marketing flaw of many small businesses that when they are busy with business the marketing efforts get cast aside until it is a slow period. Recognize that if you are consistent in your marketing efforts and simple phone connections there will be no slow periods.

How to Go from FREE to a FEE Paid Speaking Engagement
As a Professional Speaker I often get asked by those who have tackled the fear of speaking publically - "Can I get PAID to do this?" Of course, for me it is a YES! So the first step is "practicing" on a free audience. If you've been using your dog while he's sitting on the couch or, practicing in front of the mirror, or a teddy bear sitting in a chair - it's time to graduate. So the question is where do I go to speak for free? Every club looks for speakers for their local meetings. You need to make sure what you're speaking on would be a good fit for them and then ask if you can speak at the next meeting. Your goal is not to sell anything - it's to build rapport, practice your talk and develop a "close" to get their contact information so that you can follow up and see if they are looking for your information in-house.

CES … It’s a Show, It’s Biz, Live with It
Sure we hate missing the holiday season to get ready for the really big show. Sure we hate the hours of standing on thinly carpeted concrete for hours on end to see what's hot, what's new, who's new, who's gone but has CES begun to lose its shine? No the market changes, the industry changes, the association changes, the show changes. The 3,000 + small/medium CES stands get overwhelmed by the big boys' big budgets but these hidden jewels are what keep the industry moving forward and being part of folks daily lives.
