Getting Out of the Box
Many people set low ceilings on their expectations and capabilities. In the process, they place themselves in a "box." Alexander Whortley took that a step further and literally lived in a box. It was a mini-trailer, three feet wide, four feet long, and five feet high. He lived there until he died at the age of eighty. His box was made of wood, had a metal roof, and it housed him and all his meager belongings. Regardless of where he worked, Whortley chose to spend his life in that cramped space, even though larger, more comfortable quarters were always available.

Simply Speaking Why Many Sales Training Programs Do Not Produce Results
With the decline in the U.S. economy, sales training is considered to be one of the few areas within training and development that will experience increased spending. Companies now more than ever before need to increase revenues and the best way to do that is through a well-trained sales team. The bad news, beyond the economy, is that many programs do not work because they do not deliver a positive return on investment. In other words, they fail to produce the results that being:

I learned a Life Lesson from My Car
As long as something is still working, at least barely, we don’t put the time or energy there at all. We live with mediocrity rather than shooting for greatness. We limp along rather than soaring. We put time and energy into a band aid but nothing more. And if we are lucky, a smaller issue will pop up to give us a wake up call before catastrophe strikes. So, what in your life needs more attention? Where do you need a wake up call?

WHAT MAKES A MANAGEMENT CONSULTANT GREAT? Part II of III
The Good Consultant Most experienced consultants usually have a knowledge base of information and issues that they have encountered over the years. They may also have established a network of other consultants who they can approach for solutions to a particular problem or issue.

The Knowledge Workers Concept
Knowledge, as a corporate asset, is the focus of much discussion. What constitutes knowledge and where does it reside? By some estimations, knowledge is a personal possession, something an individual has as a result of education and/or experience; by other estimations, it is a "consensually supported result of information processing and thus part of organizational memory, a publicly documented body of knowledge (Nevis et al., 1995). However, most would agree that, in a corporate sense, knowledge is the productive application of information(Bendaly, 1996).

Knowledge And The Intellectural Capital Of The Organization
In the new economy of the millennium, knowledge has emerged as an asset to be valued, developed and managed. The quest for knowledge is not new: in the fourth century BC, Aristotle noted "All men by nature desire knowledge." Now, 25 centuries later, knowledge drives the global economy. No longer is knowledge considered only an individual's personal wisdom; knowledge is a component of the intellectual capital of organizations (Stewart 1997).

The Value Of Knowledge To The Organization
Since knowledge is an intangible asset, it is difficult to assign a value to it. Its amorphous nature exacerbates this difficulty. Lew Platt, former CEO of Hewlett Packard, has acknowledged the dilemma: "If HP know what HP knows, we would be three times as profitable." Intellectual capital is collective knowledge, but who collects it and who disseminates it? Successful and competitive organizations are rich in knowledge, but whose knowledge is it and and who assigns value to it? Values assigned to knowledge may differ. For example, knowledge May have one value for the organization, another for shareholders, yet another for current and potential partners, and still one more for individuals within the organization.

Knowledge Tips One Key For Success for Entrepreneurs in 2007
Knowledge on it's own Knowledge used widely gains a leverage to obtain more resources and understand more viewpoints and accepted current norms. Knowledge with action of course, but what does this mean? Well how about when you buy mutual funds, do you buy them based on selection, type, company, personal information, fund information or did someone tell you which one to buy. So where did you find out this knowledge, was it a respected source? Is there, or what level of risk is involved.

4th of the 10 Kurlan Sales Competencies that are Key to Building a Sales Culture
For more than 40 years, sales authors, experts and trainers have been telling their readers, subscribers and clients about the importance of talking 30% of the time and listening 70% of the time. That ratio is not etched in stone. Even 50/50 is acceptable. The stage of the sales process dictates the ratio more than the ratio itself. For instance, if your salespeople are following the Baseline Selling process, they would talk 100% in the earliest phase of Getting to 1st Base, and probably 10% in the later phase of Getting to 1st Base. They would probably talk 10% of the time while Getting to 2nd Base. They might talk 50% of the time on the way to 3rd Base and 90% of the time when Running Home.

Unemployed or Employed: Are You Prepared for the New Workplace?
The driving force of the knowledge age is the human mind! Our economy will grow only if we grow our human capital potential. You will grow as an individual only if you grow your knowledge base. Most importantly, because job requirements change so often “life-long learning skills” have become critical to staying employed. A solid worker in the knowledge age – one who will stay employed – must have the ability to move effortlessly from project to project.

What Does Leadership Mean
This is not a easy topic to narrow down. Because of the world that we live in has demanded so much from those who are leaders. That What Does Leadership Mean simply will not fit into one definition or category. A trait of leadership is to be the eternal student that is ravenous in their approach to always adding to their knowledge base under the pretense that the more you know the better you can serve.

Knowledge Is Not Power – It’s What You Do With That Knowledge, That’s What Really Counts
That’s right. Knowledge is not power. Nope. This is one of the biggest lies out there. Try this instead: “It is the implementation of knowledge that is the real power”. You see it isn’t what you know that matters, it’s what you do that counts. Knowledge alone won’t fix a thing. It’s what you do with that knowledge; that’s what will make the difference.
