Are You Playing to Win or Playing Not to Lose?
You may have heard the phrase "playing to win or playing not to lose." And while it sounds good to say "you're playing to win" in your business, what exactly does that really mean? Below are some signs that will show you which way you're leaning.

The Political Failures of the Baby Boomers, and the Challenges for the Next Generation
The Boomers' failures are distributed uniformly from Right to Left. But given the liberal-leaning Boomers' original rise from the 1960s counterculture, their weak-kneed absorption into the partisan political establishment is most ironic. The generation that fought for free speech and the right to question authority now enforces strict political correctness and quashes political dissent from their tenured posts in academia.

Change Management Led Zeppelin Style
Stephen Covey, author of The Seven Habits of Highly Successful People, tells us that: “Management is efficiency in climbing the ladder of success; leadership determines whether the ladder is leaning against the right wall.” Organizations choose a wall against which to lean their ladder. The ladder represents the work that needs to be done to get to the top; the wall represents the field of endeavor – the product or market selected to work in. The thing is, once your ladder is against a particular wall and you are half way up it, it takes a lot of extra effort to climb down again and move the ladder to a different wall (metaphorically speaking of course).

The Power of Support
It may sound like a paradox - being ‘in need’ of support to claim your own life or ‘leaning on’ others in order to stand on one’s own - and life is about paradoxes. What I observe and have experienced is that opening to the support that is there for us allows us to move forward with an ease and grace that might not have been present otherwise. The foundation of life is all about love.

The Knight Dismounted
The present and future of a former great world power. The knight stopped his horse and simply sat for a moment. He was a big man, handsome and slightly battered sitting on a beautiful and powerful war horse. Amidst creaks and groans of metal and leather, from his equally tired horse he dismounted and then simply stood there. His helmet under his right arm, the reins in his left hand. He simply stood still and quiet, leaning his head against his horse’s shoulder. They were both weary, drained and in need of a long term rest or at least a respite from the unsustainable grind they had maintained for so many years.
