Are You Too Smart to Succeed
When we worked in our educational consulting business in Germany many years ago, parents came to us because their kids were not able to get the grades they wanted. When working with these children we saw the following scenario played out over and over again. These children weren’t slow learners or stupid, they were actually too smart. When taking an exam these brilliant students would see so many complex ways to answer test questions that their answers were far too complicated. The teachers who evaluated their test could not make sense of these advanced answers and the students received failing marks as a result. Similar to these children many business owners do not realize how much more they can accomplish when they simplify their thinking and focus only on one idea at a time.

Victory in Motion: How Nike Soared To the Top
“Sports is like rock ‘n’ roll,” says Knight. “Both are dominant cultural forces, both speak an international language, and both are all about emotions.” Since the company first got its new name in 1972, Nike has appealed to the emotions of customers to become the leading athletic shoe retailer in the world. With the company’s ‘Swoosh’ logo tattooed on his ankle, Knight has become the embodiment of what it means to succeed as an entrepreneur in the 21st century. How did Knight climb to the top?

11 Reasons why you better make sure the customer is always right!
A customer just left you, or left your store unsatisfied. How many customers did you just lose? One, two because he will tell a friend of his dissatisfaction, three because he will tell 2 friends? Would you believe ten or more?

Tapping Your Untapped Market
There is a whole world out there that is in need of your services that you are not taking advantage of. There are a variety of niches and demographics that are left without pursuit. Especially in tougher economic times, this is just money being left on the table. Below are a few different areas that businesses should consider to expand their client base.

Sales Are Probably Down if You\'re Doing These Three Things
Today is not business as usual. Many markets are not growing. Are you holding your breath and hoping? This is not the right strategy. What is left to do? You have reviewed each and every expense line; renegotiated with suppliers and your bank; cut back where you can; and generally focused inwardly. The highest impact activity that you have left is to SELL. And, if you are doing these three things, I would be shocked if your sales aren't down. Now is the time, more than ever, to take a critical look at your current sales playbook.

Living a Deeply Fulfilling and Yummy Life Means Overcoming Your Fears!
The worst part is you are left feeling anxious despite having experienced no real actions or implications. The personal conversations in your head, when left unattended to can leave you feeling oppressed, negative, and burdened with suffering instead of optimistic, creative and yummy. Crazy stuff isn't it! This is why you set out with justifications about why you shouldn't do something - despite having an ache and a longing to do so.

What Are You Worth?
The other day, I was listening to a highly-successful (millionaire) internet entrepreneur coaching three new colleagues. Each of them had recently decided upon a career transition, leaving their trade-time-for-money jobs to strike out on their own in cyberspace. The coach asked each of them to address three questions: how much money they'd made in the job they just left, why they left, and what they expected to make in their new venture. The conversation went something like this....

Using Website Bounce Rate to Improve Your Small Business Marketing
The bounce rate your website receives indicates how many visitors came to your site and left without doing anything more. Bounced visitors are those who didn't visit any other pages, didn't submit a subscription form, didn't watch any videos, etc. They came and they left in a flash.

Breaking out of Our Mental Prisons
W Mitchell is an outstanding example of someone who refuses to be a victim, despite being victimized - not by just one horrible accident, but two. The first left him burned over 65% of his body, including his face, arms, and hands. A plane crash four years later left him paralyzed from the waist down, sentencing him permanently to a wheelchair. Having overcome these setbacks, Mitchell is a very compelling speaker on taking responsibility for our choices in life - on what it takes to be a leader.
