Get Your Shine On
| |
| One of my most frequent mantras for small business is “Strategy Before Tactics.” In other words, you must develop a solid marketing strategy before you ever consider the what and how of the tactical side. |

Motivating Others
| |
| People are self-motivated. The task is to find out what needs and values motivate the individual internally, or more importantly, how to select people who will be naturally motivated by what the environment and job offers. Check out the list of questions to ask.
It is an interesting paradox that as a parent, manager, supervisor, or owner, you can stifle motivation, but you cannot create it. If a person has been motivated in the past, but is not now, something may be going on at work or home which is stifling the person’s motivation. |

Recognize Your Emotional Sleight-of-Hand
| |
| As people get into midlife, they often become very busy taking care of very important matters. Too often, those 'matters' are merely a misdirection from what's really going on. |

Getting from Child-ish to Child-like

| Education turns out to be a process that separates the individual from his or her intuition. Midlife offers an opportunity to recapture what was lost. |

Personal Alignment
| |
| At some point, most of us have experienced that vague feeling that something isn't quite right .... even if we cannot quite put our finger on what it is.
Maybe we feel we are running on a fraction of our full potential. Or that we lack the full measure of courage / confidence that we would like to have. Or perhaps we believe we have everything in place, but our intuition does not quite go along with this analysis.
This may be indicative that some "alignment" is missing. Here is a brief overview of some of the key elements of personal alignment, even if the full relationship between them is too complex to represent here.

What Will Your Transition Cost?
| |
| Although culturally it may cost men to become introspective and to examine in some depth what's really important to them, the cost of failing to perform this kind of self-examination could be much higher. It cost you everything you hold dear. |

Facing a career transition? You are not alone!
| |
| Whenever I meet someone to discuss their career needs, it is not unusual for them to feel as if the career issues they face are unique. While the specifics are unique, facing a career transition is not. |

Using Borrowed Spectacles
| |
| You are your own expert. No one knows you like you do.To truly see your problems or concerns and to examine your life you must look through your own eyes, your own spectacles, using your own experiences, your honesty and your values. Not someone else’s.
In other words do not use borrowed spectacles. If you have ever tried this you will be aware of the distortion, almost a pain, that is experienced when looking through the lenses. Your vision is distorted and does not allow you to see the true picture or vision of what life has presented to you.

How to Write Your Personal Mission/Vision Statement to Achieve Your Goals
| |
| Much like a business, we, as human beings have a purpose or mission in life. What if we spent as much time getting to know who we are and what we want for ourselves? A personal vision/mission statement is the framework for creating a powerful life. A Personal Vision/Mission can help propel you into a career change, finding a new job, or make your present job work better for you. The more connected your Personal Vision/Mission is to yourself, the better it can guide your career and your life.

The Value of Vision
| |
| What's your vision? Do you have one for your business? Is it aligned with your personal vision? Having a clearly defined vision, increases the odds you will bring your desires to fruition. Ask any successful business person and you will find they started out with some sort of a vision.
Working closely with entrepreneurs provides me with an insider's view of what happens in their operations. Those most likely to succeed are the ones who have a clear vision, a picture which resonates deeply.

There is a huge difference between see and foresee
| |
| The very essence of leadership is that you have to have vision. There is more to us than we know. If we can be made to see it, perhaps for the rest of our lives we will be unwilling to settle for less. A vision is not just a picture of what could be; it is an appeal to our better selves, a call to become something more.
Vision gives you the impulse to make the picture your own. There are always flowers for those who want to see them. There are miles to go for those who want to reach at the top.The difference between dream and goal is that goal have deadline. To accomplish great things we must first dream, then visualize, then plan... believe... act. We all need big and clear picture for ourselves to leave legible foot print on the map of the world.
We cannot settle down with low achievements in the life as we have narrow vision. |

The Basic Elements of an Empowering and Enduring Life Purpose
| |
| Many elements could contribute to the creation of a powerful, long lasting, and flexible life purpose. In my work with hundreds of individuals and thousands of people in groups, I have found the following three elements to be most effective:
• Vision: What is the vision or possibility you see for the world?
• Values: What are the core values you stand for and are willing to give your life for?
• Being: Who are you? What can people count on from you? Life purpose is more about who you are than what you do. Remember, we’re called human beings, not human doings. |

The Tremendous Life-Shaping Power of Vision
| |
| Vision is an integral part of a Life on Purpose. Without vision we can wither on the vine. What is vision? In working as a coach with thousands of people, I've found that vision is a key ingredient of our life purpose. It's what we see to be possible-not only for ourselves, but also for our families, our communities, and indeed for the world. Without it we perish. I've found that helping people reawaken their sense of what's possible is a key component of preparing for your journey to living your life according to your own personal life purpose. This is because the more someone taps into this realm of possibility, the more inspired they will be to take the actions necessary to make it their reality. |
