There are always opportunities
These are not good times for retailers. The unemployment rate is very high, and those who have jobs are afraid of losing them.. The morals of most of the people in my industry – retailers, tenant coordinators, architects, store planners, contractors, fixture vendors etc., seem to be at the lowest point since I have known them. These are people who at one time were extremely positive. Some are predicting that things will not get better till 2013 – the sense of impending doom is everywhere!!!!!! This is the very same reason I, on the other hand am extremely optimistic!! Granted, I don’t have a crystal ball to see the future, BUT, there are plenty of reasons to be upbeat about the future.

Finally it appears as though we're looking out of the tunnel. We can see light -- a lot of optimistic light -- rather than extended gloom. The economy won't be completely behind us but things are looking like they are going to slowly improve. There are still potholes on the road to recovery and prosperity. HMI Lighting
Lighting is everything! Whether it's natural sunlight, subdued ambience, perfect practicals or complex Hollywood style lighting, the image owes all of its power to light. An expensive but required type of light in most higher-end video production projects is HMI lighting. For pure lumen power, HMI's are hard to beat. They can be temperamental, flickery and a pain to move but when you need them there is no substitute.

Mice and Men
Recently, there was a university study done using white mice as the subjects for a psychological experiment. The mice were put into a cage with a red light and a green light on opposite sides of the space. The experiment was designed in such a way that when a bell rang, a mouse could rush to the red light or the green light to receive a treat. The treat was only presented for a few seconds, so that if the mouse guessed wrong and went to the green light when the treat was being presented at the red light, the mouse didn't have enough time to rush across the cage and get the treat.
