Holiday Books on Finance and Entrepreneurship
A list of recent books (partially via NDE) of possible interest to entrepreneurs and investors. To be upfront, the only ones on the list that I have read are the first two -- Schramm's and Fisher's, which are both excellent -- and so with the rest you're on your own:

Book Marketing Books Every Author Must Read
As a book marketing guy and book publicist it’s imperative for me to keep up with all of the great books and magazine articles being published on the topic of book marketing. I’ve read dozens and dozens of books on book marketing and usually have found a morsel or two of useful information in each one. Here’s a list of my favorites. By the way, I’ve personally met or have spoken to each author and can attest to the veracity of the material they present and their credentials to discuss these topics.

Top Ten Leopard Tips
Here are the top-ten Leopard tips from my friends, Adam Engst et al, at Take Control Books. They’ve already released five ebooks to help people upgrade to Leopard. These books cost either $10 or $15, but you can save 30% if you buy all five. Take Control publishes minor updates for free, so the authors can revise their books on the fly.

How To Write Better AdCopy
Right now, you’re probably thinking, “Now he’s gonna tell us to read all the books we can find on copywriting.” Wrong, paperback-breathe! -- The first thing I’m gonna tell you is -- after you’ve read all those copywriting books for general knowledge; like learning english composition, grammar and syntax -- throw away those books and ...

It’s All About PR
You learn that, in the book world, PR is everything. When you walk into a bookstore, you are walking into a treasure house of 140,000 books. Online at amazon.com, there are 2.5 million books. Somewhere in your mind, dimly, you knew that, but nothing drives it home so much as walking into a bookstore and seeing rack upon rack of beautiful books and then you go find your section and see all the racks of beautiful self-help books and then...

Presidential List
I read an article recently that made a lot of sense to me. Doris Kearns Goodwin is a Pulitzer Prize winner for her books on history, and she made a list of ten points that are important for a President to consider and to emulate if they hoped to be great. She has written books about Abraham Lincoln and Franklin and Eleanor Roosevelt, and she believes leadership strengths should be considered carefully before voting. Here are some of the attributes that she feels make for a great leader--and I agree!

How To Use a Book To Build Your Mailing List
One of the easiest, quickest and most effective ways to build your Mailing List is by using the promotional strategies of book reviews. On the internet there are a number of places you can visit for the sole purpose of selecting books that you can promote to your mailing list.

Create Your Top Ten List for Marketing
Create a top ten list to answer this question. Print this list on a postcard or flyer. Publish it on your website or blog. Memorize the list but never say all ten at one time. Tell people one or two then give them the printed list to read on their own. Reading the printed list will be more believable and convincing than you droning on. And very few people can deliver a top ten list as entertaining as Dave Letterman.

E-Mail Tip #24 - Using Proper Etiquitte
Proper etiquitte in e-mails has been called "netiquette." This article contains a list of precautions that will be helpful to you. It was compiled by a friend of mine and used with her permission in one of my books.

Writing Your Own Obituary
Those of you who are consistent readers of this regular offering, realize that I rarely recommend specific books. Instead, I encourage people to read those books that will help them in the pursuit of their own passion. However, recently I have completed both of Tom Brokaw's books dealing with the Depression and World War II era-The Greatest Generation and The Greatest Generation Speaks.
