What is a Small Business Administration (SBA) Loan?
As a new entrepreneur looking for capital, one of your first options for a loan will be a SBA-backed loan. SBA loan applications are made through a bank. The SBA guarantees a loan to the bank, so in case the borrower defaults, the bank is guaranteed a portion of the loan by the SBA. It was after the introduction of the 1934 Bank of Canada Act that gave this bank the monopoly on the issuance of banknotes.
