A positive work-out for your brain for business owners and would-be business owners alike

| There are many of us that go to the gym to give our bodies a work-out, but how many of you give you mind a work-out too?
I would hazard a guess that not many people give their brain a physical work-out; there are those of you that have bought the "Nintendo Brain Tease", which is said to help our brains and our memory. However, this is not many people that even do this and what I have in mind is to change your thinking to a positive mode of thinking, so here goes my idea for a brain work out:
1. Each day you wake up make sure you "Think in a positive way". Begin your day with a big smile and take your mind off to a lovely place, a special place you would love to be. This could be a Caribbean Island or by your favourite lake, it does not matter, all that matters is that when you think about this place it makes you feel really good. |

Do you choose to get behind the site that is promising their top reps a new computer, a dream trip to a place that is known to be lovely, or the program that rewards its tops affiliates with 2000 dollars in cash? Your job as an internet marketer is to see clearly, and base your decision on the facts so that you can start promoting as fast as possible. |

Watching Valentina

| It has been a fun few weeks around my house. I’ve had two lovely visitors from Germany, my girlfriend Valentina and her mom, Barbara. Of course, we’ve had a blast traveling around and seeing the sights of Virginia and DC and blathering away in our own bizarre mix of English and German. What struck me, though, was how much I learned from watching Valentina. |

Being clear on what you do

| Last week I sat down with a lady who wanted me to refer business to her. She was really lovely and we spent about an hour chatting away. But, although I would have liked to have referred business to her, I walked away from that meeting not really understanding what she did or how she could have helped people. |

Can you do PR without talking to Journalists?

| For me, PR always has been (and probably still is) the hardest part of marketing Exceptional Thinking. Why? Because it involves picking up the phone and talking to journalists.
Now, I’m sure they’re lovely people, but in my head, they’ve got three heads, sharp fangs and would happily eat me for breakfast. And that’s why I personally don’t like calling them.

| One of my favourite trips out is to a small northern mill town called Hebden Bridge here is West Yorkshire. There are a number of reasons why I love this place so much, first of all it is beautiful, it just lies in a small valley in the pennines surrounded by lovely clean clear countryside, it has the river and a canal and a multitude of beautiful walks. The energy is uplifting and the people are typical northerners which means they are plain talking, friendly and very helpful.
But by far the best attraction for me as a marketer is the town its self.

| When you help your potential clients get out of confusion, they come back to the nice, calm, lovely place where they understand exactly what you’re talking about… and can immediately tell whether they need to work with you (or if they know someone who does). And that’s a lovely, cozy place to be.

Being In Between
| |
| When I am coaching business owners - at any level- there comes a place and time when they are in the midst of letting something go and creating something new. They are often "in between" where they were and where they are going.
Let me tell you - I have been there - and it is not an easy place to be. In fact it can be quite uncomfortable.
Leaving behind the known - even though it may not be the best place for you - is not easy - especially when you have not yet experienced where you want to be. But being "in-between" has incredible value. Let me explain. |
