HOW TO DEMOGRAPHICALLY AND GEOGRAPHICALY SEGMENT THE MARKET FOR EFFECTIVE ADVERTISING AND PROMOTION.
| |
| I have talked about segmenting the market before, but it does not hurt to repeat. This is because segmenting your market makes you focus on what you want to do for your business and what is your target market profile. This is by understanding which market segments you are going to attack and which ones you are going to ignore. Segmenting the market is a step by step process, but before be get to that process we need to understand two different ways that we can segment the market for business development as well as for advertisement, promotions and community social responsibility. |

| |
| Everyone has heard of it by now. Very few know how to use it and I suggest that many franchises are still missing out on a major marketing process by continuing in the dark ages by ignoring it. I am talking about Search Engine Optimization.
Search Engine Optimization or SEO is a powerful Internet tool aimed to increase brand, product and service visibility and your business presence on the web. Since the Internet is now the primary source of information and goods for multi-market and Top 100 regional market companies and service providers, it only makes sense to be as visible as possible in order to attract and meet the needs of your prospects, clients and customers. |

Market Analysis Template
| |
| When looking into a new business proposition or else brainstorming for your current market a market analysis template can be used rather effectively. What this does is break down your market segment into clearly defining traits that your market has to help you figure out how to better serve you customers.
There are more than a few market analysis templates floating around for free, a simple web search will net you more than you would ever use. However, an understanding of the components that make up a market analysis template and making sure you have everything you need in place can be very helpful. I just so happen to have a few ideas on that. |

Common Sense and Success
| |
| We are all born with five senses: sight, sound, touch, taste and smell. These senses help us navigate our way through the world. They bring us delight in small things. They also warn us when danger threatens. However, I believe that we all have a sixth, and underused sense, our common sense. Your common sense helps you make the right decision in ambiguous situations -- but only if you use it. When I tell people that I'm the Common Sense Guy, people often come back with Will Rogers' saying, "Common sense isn't all that common." I disagree. I think that we all have innate common sense. It's a natural gift, just like our five other senses. We don't always use it though. If you are willing to let your common sense guide you today, you can use it as a guide tomorrow, the next day, next week and next month. |

Why You Absolutely Do Need PR To Succeed
| |
| Whether you want to launch a PR campaign for your company or not, you owe it to your business, so do it. If you’re going to spend time, money, blood, sweat and tears launching your service or your product, it makes no sense not to do everything you can to effectively market your company and reach your target market. If you’re running a small business, you don’t have the marketing arm of an Apple, or IBM or GM to do your promotional work for you. You’re either trying to handle your marketing in house, or you’ve brought on a PR firm or media relations consultant to handle your marketing for you. However you’re approaching it, you need to be truly media savvy to be effective and reach your customers, prospects and clients. |

Stock Market Volatility and the Impact on Small/Medium Size Business Owners and Buyers
| |
| Recent stock market activity has created a sense of uneasiness among small to medium, size business owners attempting to sell their business and has also created a greater awareness of risk among those seeking to acquire such businesses. A down market does not necessarily preclude business sales - volatility, however, as we have witnessed during August 2011, instills an element of uncertainty that can adversely influence the confidence of buyers that have been seeking business ownership and its correlative fulfillment of the American Dream.
