Turning Bald Into a Business: Walker Launches Her Beauty Line
“God answered my prayer, for one night I had a dream, and in that dream a big black man appeared to me and told me what to mix up for my hair,” said Walker. “Some of the remedy was grown in Africa, but I sent for it, mixed it, put it on my scalp, and in a few weeks my hair was coming in faster than it had ever fallen out. I tried it on my friends; it helped them. I made up my mind I would begin to sell it.”

And when we found it impossible to agree, due to his narrowness of vision, I embarked on business for myself.”

The Power of Support
It may sound like a paradox - being ‘in need’ of support to claim your own life or ‘leaning on’ others in order to stand on one’s own - and life is about paradoxes. The foundation of life is all about love.

In the midst of difficult times, we can forget the special resource living deeply within us that has brought us through situations when we felt pressured or trapped or challenged. This inner resource, available to everyone, is a source of solidity and strength that lives at the core of us and can carry us through adversity. It shows up uniquely when we remember to tap into it. Sneaking Up On Commitment
Forever can be a long time. For many of us the idea of committing to something forever can be very intimidating and bring us a lot of fear in recognition of our past failures. This was certainly the case when my wife and I first met. One of my fondest early recollections of Ann was during a workshop on Prosperity Money when we first met. One of our assignments was to list 100 things we wanted to do, be or have. Ann was sharing with one of the participants in the hallway prior to our workshop. I overheard her say that on her list were two items: a committed relationship and a romantic relationship. As a way to enter into the conversation I asked her why those were 2 separate items. Wasn't it possible to have a committed and a romantic relationship as one?

When the trials of the world weigh heavily upon you, your family becomes a true source of strength, encouragement, and peace-a shelter from the storm.

Monotone- Recasting Vision For Your Life
Who do you think of when you picture someone talking in monotone? I personally think of Ben Stein who did the Clear Eyes commercials a few years back. His voice remained at the same tone throughout the commercial. He did not show any excitement whatsoever in the product he was selling. He was just straightforward, to the point, and the commercial was over. Many people would probably describe him as boring. Now, I realize that is exactly what they wanted to accomplish in this commercial for whatever reason. However, the reality is that many people live their real lives this way.

Discovering and Living by Your Core Values
Core values are essential to keeping your life on track. Do you know yours? Most don't! Would you like to know yours? Here are a couple of quick ways to help you get started in discovering your core values and help you hammer them into a values statement:

Time Management
No matter where I go today, or whom I speak with, I find a burning concern in people related to time management. They are stressing, and I mean heavily stressing because they feel they are failing at managing their time.

The Value of Setting Intentions
My belief is that the distinction between setting an intention versus setting a goal is that goals can sometimes be in the land of “should” or come from a place of need. Intentions are all about identifying what is our heart’s path. For example, a goal might be framed by such language as: “I should lose weight. Eat healthfully. Exercise regularly. Change my career. Take care of myself. And then I’ll feel okay about myself.”

The Scar Never Really Goes Away
As a human being, you tend to let other people down from time to time. Sometimes it is an innocent misunderstanding, and sometimes the cause is more complex. Regardless, we normally try to patch things up and move on. The dilemma is that damaged relationships are like scars that never fully go away. The skin is intact, but the prior damage is always evident.

Your Life Purpose
Dear Jane, How can I figure out what my life purpose is? First of all, you may have more than one life purpose. What may feel important at one stage in life may get bumped down by another priority during a different stage of life. For instance, when you were in your teens, your education, which college you would go to, what you were going to be when you “grew up,” may have been your priorities. When you’re in your twenties and thirties, your focus may be on job advancement, achievement, status, marriage, and family. In your forties and fifties, it may change yet again to self-fulfillment and health. As your priorities change, so may your life purpose.

What Do You Need to Pass a Franchisor’s Test?
Buying a franchise is a lot like marriage. Two parties enter into a relationship with the expectation of mutual benefit, long-term support and common goals. When entering into marriage, both people spend a great deal of time learning about each other and making sure they are a good match before making the commitment. The same is true for franchising. Both the franchisor and the franchisee gather information about each other and evaluate whether there is a good match. Although it may not be immediately evident, a franchise company is under no obligation to award a franchise to just anyone who can afford the franchise fee. In many cases a franchisor has as much or more at risk when a franchisee fails.

She may have rushed into marriage twice before and found herself caught up in the media storm of relationships with many other high-profiled celebrities, but it is the marriage between Jennifer Lopez and Marc Anthony that seems to be holding strong today. 50/50 Never Works in Relationships
The old cliche in order to make it work we have to have a 50/50 deal. You have to do your part and I have to do mine. We have to split things evenly. This business partnership will only work if it is 50/50. This marriage will only work if it is 50/50. Otherwise it is never going to work. Any of that sound familiar to you? We have heard that one before. Of course we have. Yet things don't work when we give 50 and the other person gives 50. Trust me. We tried it in business. We tired it in marriage. And what we have found to many times is that things still don't work. Why?
