| |
| I’m leading one of my martial arts classes on a hot summer afternoon. The air conditioner is working full-tilt, but only teases us with an occasional whiff of cool air. The students are fully focused and sweating through a set of choreographed exercises we call “kata”.
After laying it all on the line they wait for my judgment...
I ask, “Do you want me to nice or honest?” |

Teacher and Student
| |
| I’ve been blessed in my martial arts career to study with some fabulous instructors. One of the teachers I most admire likes to say, "Everyone wants to be a Jedi Knight in two weeks; It takes longer than two weeks!"

Taking the Initiative
| |
| Sometimes less is more. In life and business knowing when to act is the key to success. Lessons learned in martial arts can carry over to the business world. Expending unnecessary energy is never productive and a good manager like a good teacher can model this behavior to his students or employees. |

What do we mean by 'positive attitude'?

How do you feel about getting tax breaks?
| |
| Stephen Harper may not be able to break wooden boards as well as some of us in the martial arts community, but his breaks when it comes to taxes are something we can hold a mutual respect with him for. This blog is about what the fitness tax credit planned for 2015 means to our organization. |
