Pervez Ahmed, CEO and managing director of Max Healthcare, a leading hospital chain based in New Delhi, asked a lecture hall filled with medical executives one recent afternoon in Hyderabad. India's US$40 billion-a-year health care industry has grown rapidly and is now the second-largest service-sector employer in the country (after education), providing jobs for about 4.5 million people directly or indirectly. Highly qualified doctors and scientists, state-of-the-art technology and low costs have helped India become an attractive global hub for medical tourism, clinical studies, and research and development programs. |

| One of the most critical activities of a coach, mentor, supervisor or anyone that oversees the work of others is to provide feedback to let them know, in a timely and ongoing way, how they are performing. People committed to continuous improvement welcome the opportunity to discuss their strengths and areas for improvement in their performance. Feedback must encourage self-reflection& raise self-awareness. Building a successful legacy one purposeful act at a time
| |
| In this article, Richard Monette expands on his popular article "The Success Formula". He uses the example of the Banff Centre - one of Canada's most well known and successful professional development hubs - 75th anniversary to present a clear recipe to building a successful legacy.
Richard highlights the importance of broadening the spectrum of criteria organizations and individuals typically use to measure their success. More specifically, Richard explains how to go beyond the concrete, easily measurable and tangible results and account for the intangible, fleeting outcomes behind those numbers.
Richard concludes that defining the fulfillment variable in the Success Formula is not a license to avoid the hard work required to deliver results.

Master Your Game: High Performance Teams Self-Assessment
| |
| Last month, I talked about the difference between groups and teams. (See September newsletter.) I also discussed the many benefits of teams.
For another important reason for improving your teams, look no further than the bottom line. When a team does not perform its task, the opportunity costs are great. Poor team results, missed deadlines, members not committed to the outcome, stress and frustration, unproductive hours - these are some consequences of poor-performing teams. How much are these worth to you?
The good news is, with professional coaching, it is possible to convert your groups into teams. Furthermore, you can boost your team's level of performance from good to great. High performance teams mean mutual commitment that leads to innovative outcomes and measurable positive results. |

There's Opportunity in that Crisis
| |
| Quantum Theory promotes the existence of limitless outcomes for each and every situation. The outcome we experience is the outcome we choose to see.
Pay attention to that. Any outcome is available to us - we choose what we experience. When we change our thoughts and expectations - we change our outcomes. |

Struggle If You Must During Career Transition, But Why Should You?
| |
| To advance forward is to advance to new perspectives by developing new competencies in both soft and hard skills. What is meant by soft and hard skills? I see the hard skills as those that are produced. They are measurable, quantifiable and can be observed outside of self. They have empirical evidence. For example, when a client of mine has a goal to make a career transition into another field of interest and she/he has succeeded, it is obvious to everyone who is familiar with him/her. It is measurable in that the client did break away from one profession and moved into another, which could be seen by others. |
