Intel, UNC's Coal Supply and Abbott's Bottles: When the Shoe is on the Other Foot
| |
| It was interesting in that as I was reading the story about Intel in which it is alleged that the company "Used bribery and coercion to maintain its dominance in the microprocessor market," I could not help but think that this was not the first time that the proverbial shoe was on the other foot in terms of the sometimes strained relationship between buyer and supplier. |

| |
| I have talked about segmenting the market before, but it does not hurt to repeat. This is because segmenting your market makes you focus on what you want to do for your business and what is your target market profile. This is by understanding which market segments you are going to attack and which ones you are going to ignore. Waiting for a Pullback!
| |
| The past week in gold, silver, oil, natural gas and the broad market wasn’t anything to write home about. We are seeing controlled profit taking which is making the market choppy. Many traders are getting very bearish on the market which is a good thing in my opinion. According to my market internals, sentiment and volume analysis we should get a shake out (sharp dip) which would make traders exit their positions before the market continues higher. |

Reasons for Success of Intel
| |
| In 1971 Intel had created the first viable commercially produced microchip. In 1972 they had produced a microcomputer. But still in the early 80s they were producing mostly memory devices. Due to increasing market pressure from Japanese companies, it was decided that Intel would change direction and begin producing microprocessors. At the time microprocessors were not very stable. In short, they broke all the time. Intel set out to make their microprocessor reliable and affordable. Intel had three different production facilities operational and was working with IBM to become their provider for microprocessors. |

Market Analysis Template
| |
| When looking into a new business proposition or else brainstorming for your current market a market analysis template can be used rather effectively. What this does is break down your market segment into clearly defining traits that your market has to help you figure out how to better serve you customers.
There are more than a few market analysis templates floating around for free, a simple web search will net you more than you would ever use. However, an understanding of the components that make up a market analysis template and making sure you have everything you need in place can be very helpful. I just so happen to have a few ideas on that. |
