Do Sales Training Seminars Really Work?
| |
| Companies spend millions on sales training seminars, yet seminars are not the best form of learning for some individuals. Everyone's learning style is different, and for some attending a seminar just does not work. A number of companies today are turning to executive coaches to not only help their salespeople, but also the sales managers improve the sales and management techniques.
Here's a case study about Mike, a salesperson who had attended many seminars, yet never seemed to move to the top of the sales charts. Last year, one of my clients asked me to work with a Mike, a salesperson for a medium-size local company. |

Referral Truth or Delusion
| |
| I am currently working on a new book idea with two business associates, Mike Macedonio and Mike Garrison (we call them Mike2), of the Referral Institute. The thought came to us that many business people have a perception about word-of-mouth marketing that isn’t based on reality. It’s a delusion! |

The Universe is Calling - Will You Heed the Call?

| "The soul is like a wild animal -- tough, resilient, savvy, self-sufficient, and yet exceedingly shy." Parker J. Palmer from Let Your Life Speak: Listening for the Voice of Vocation
In our last issue I made a distinction between one's life purpose and a calling or vocation. As you may recall the Life On Purpose Perspective offers that your life purpose is more about who you are as a spiritual being and what you came here to this life to be and to experience, while a calling or a vocation often has more to do with what you choose or are lead to do as an expression of your purpose.
Of course, on one hand anything that you do in life can be enhanced when it's 'poured' into the context of your life purpose. For example, several years ago with Life On Purpose Institute was just getting of |

The Dreaded Sales Phone Call
| |
| My mobile phone rang at 5pm last night. I looked at the number and didn’t recognise it but still answered it.
“Hi it’s XXXX on behalf of Mike Filsaime. It’s your lucky day”
“Why is it my lucky day?”
“Well, Mike Filsaime wants to work with you”
“Am I supposed to be impressed with that? Who the heck is Mike Filsaime? Never heard of him. Is he a spiritual leader?”
Of course, I’ve heard of Mike but I’ve been on the end of these types of phone calls before, so I thought I would play with the guy. |

The Zulu Salesman
| |
| In South Africa, we stayed at a wonderful game reserve called Zulu Nyala. Most of the workers there come from a local Zulu village and take incredibly good care of the guests at the lodge.
One man, in particular, stands out because he was such a great salesman. “Mike” works in the gift shop and is single-handedly responsible for making sure guest go home with plenty of reminders of their stay in South Africa.
Here is how Mike worked… |

Anyone Who Sells Needs Mike Dillard's Training
| |
| A common misnomer about Mike Dillard's training is that he/it only works for the network marketing or M.L.M industries. The truth is that anyone who sells a product or service WILL benefit from Mike Dillard. Yes, the training he offers specifically targets home business owners; but that's because there are over 75,000,000 of them worldwide. That's a pretty nice target market! |

How Wordpress Can Torture and Defeat the Entrepreneur
| |
| Do you remember the video game Mike Tyson's Punch-Out for the original Nintendo? It was that miserable game you would spend all Saturday on, fighting boxers five times bigger than you only to get to Mike Tyson, who would knock you out in about 3 seconds. |
