He enjoyed tinkering with electronics as a child, and nothing had changed in the years since. Morita took a constant and keen interest in the research and development branch of his company. In fact, in the early years, there was one product that particularly caught Morita’s attention. |

China is No Longer an Emerging Economy!
| |
| As I woke Monday morning I saw that the Asian markets, particularly the Shanghai Composite, were selling off sharply. And I thought to myself, “oh no, here we go”. My general feeling is that the US equity market is overbought as the valuations haven’t quite caught up to price. Yet the US equity markets finished the day positive. What gives? |

| |
| Some things never cease to amaze me. Just when you thought we were about to settle in to a lazy summer of sideways markets, some fools just can’t help themselves to be quiet. I am talking about politicians. And government officials. When are they going to learn that the markets are hyper-sensitive to not only what they do, but what they SAY? |

Your CUSTOMER Satisfaction Is Tied To Your EMPLOYEE Satisfaction
| |
| WHAT DO YOUR CUSTOMERS REALLY THINK ABOUT YOU?
We constantly endeavor to achieve 100% CUSTOMER SATISFACTION. We invest our time and money developing surveys and devising ways to improve our rate of return on those surveys. We empower the information gathered to correct individual problems and micromanage our way to solutions. In fact, much of the comments we act upon don’t really reflect upon the way our business is actually being conducted. These knee jerk reactions create more problems than they solve. The most important feedback never makes its way to our “gatherers”. Our BEST customers don’t respond to surveys and the truly DISSATISFIED customers will never give us a second chance. |

14 Characteristics of Top-Flight Salespeople
| |
| The Difference between The Best And The Also-Rans…
As a consultant and trainer in sales and the sales process, I’m often asked the question, “What makes a top-performing salesperson?”
As with most things in life, the answer can be summarised in just two words, Attitude and Activity.
Attitude determines the difference between the best and the rest. The best don’t necessarily know more, they just do more and do it better and more frequently.
Activity is the manifestation of their desire to succeed.
Combined, they become Actitude - activity conducted with a positive attitude.

grow your business like a weed
| |
| On my way to the office Monday, I heard a story on NPR about WeedShare.com, a company out to solve the file-sharing problem in the music industry one song at a time. For those unfamiliar (as I was until Monday morning), Weed is a software license service of the Seattle-based Shared Media Licensing, Inc., that allows people to download music files and try them out by playing them up to three times before prompting them for purchase. But it's the next step that's truly innovative, they don't restrict the number of copies the end user makes, and they actually (financially) encourage file sharing. As Weed's website reads,
"Weed has a different view on Internet file-sharing. Instead of trying to shut down file sharing, we think people should be paid for it. |

No Internet Monday...An Unbalanced Start to the Work Week
| |
| We take our internet service for granted. It's our communication link to the world. And yet when the technology gets the better of us, we are lost, confused and scattered. For this to happen on a Monday morning only means that the work week gets off to an truely unbalanced start. Debbie Lessin, CPA and self-proclaimed Balance Lady recently had such a Monday. Debbie always tries to roll with the punches, remembering of course that in the scheme of things, it's really just the internet! |
