Leaders Are Communicators
There is an old saying, “That which can be misunderstood will be misunderstood.” This resolution, passed by the Board of Councilmen in Canton, Mississippi, in the mid-1800s brings that into focus. “Number one: Resolved by this Council that we build a new jail. Number two: Resolved that the new jail be built out of the materials of the old jail. Resolved that the old jail be used until the new jail is finished.”

Loyalty and Leadership - 8 Ways to Earn The Loyalty of Your Employees
Loyalty, like respect and trust, is not automatically yours just because you're a manager. You have to earn it. Why is it important in your role and what can you do to start earning it?

Accounting Software- A Business Model
Business owners can have much better control of their accounting and operating software if they own the source code. Software developers can provide the control by offering the source code that includes the general accounting and the clients' unique application.

Leadership Characteristics – Managing With Feeling
Many business owners feel that they need to have “hard” leadership characteristics in order to get ahead or be successful. They believe that if they show any weakness or flexibility, that staff will “pounce” and take advantage of them. When you look inside their companies, you see unhappy people (both managers and staff), all tightly hanging onto what is right in their view and making sure they get what they are entitled to.

"Drive ONE"
You need a team of "A" players and a new way of thinking to break out of a rut or to move forward if your market conditions change.

The Mind of the Customer
Providers of key business or mission critical solutions must engage and connect with their customers on a higher level. A standard supplier relationship will simply not generate or sustain that vital degree of trust.

FranchisorFranchisee Relationship
Because entering into a franchise is investing in a very real, very serious relationship, you want to make sure that you're on the road to establishing a healthy franchisor/franchisee relationship.

Relationship = to relate with a significant other person lovingly everyday.
Look at it as a verb "to relate with a significant other person lovingly everyday" not a noun. It is a verb – continuous – you are in a relationship for as log as you are relating with this person. And if you are doing it so lovingly then you are in a goooood relationship! Whose responsibility is a relationship? 50-50? 80-20? In my opinion, each partner has to give 100% in order for a relationship to work. A real loving relationship is a partnership of mutual support and mutual pleasure and mutual respect.

A Business Alliance is Not a Marriage - Part 1
“What kind of team building can we do to get both sides of our business alliance working better together?” “How can we get them to trust us more?” “As partners, shouldn’t we be looking at the balance between risk and reward equally?”

Working with the media is an important part of life for many organisations. It’s essential to forge a strong relationship of mutual respect.

“Your Business Coach’s Top Ten Tips on How to Demonstrate Respect Where You Work and While You Work There”
Every one of us needs respect. And this is true at home and at work. In most, if not all, of the focus groups I have facilitated over the past fifteen years, the lack of respect is identified as a critical issue in the workplace. We know when we have respect and we know when we don’t have respect. Whenever I hear the word respect, I am always connected to Aretha Franklin singing, “R-E-S-P-E-C-T Find out what it means to me” People in today’s workplace are literally crying out for respect for who they are, for what they do and for what value they bring to the organization. So how do we and how can we demonstrate respect where we work and while we work there? There are some simple and very powerful actions to demonstrate respect. Here is a top ten (10) list of tips from your business coach on how to demonstrate respect.

1.17 Building partnerships: Working Out of Poverty
I have often talked about the need for team play in the multilateral system to face the challenges of today’s world. Most would agree that the multilateral system is underperforming in this respect. We can and must renew our efforts to work together in a true global partnership of mutual responsibility and accountability.

Listening Beyond Words
Active listening is a powerful way of listening and responding to customers that improves mutual understanding. It is the foundation of effective communication and demonstrates real respect.

How to Earn Respect at the Office
Many struggles at work can be attributed to one major symptom: a lack of respect from your co-workers, subordinates or supervisors. But, if you feel there is a lack of respect, how do you go about regaining or earning that trust from those in your workplace? Do you go around demanding that others respect you because of your title or position?

Third Generation Leadership resolves problems
Respect is an interesting concept. When Group 8 Education were researching issues in education, one of the questions they asked teachers was: “Do you treat your students with respect?” The answer was an unequivocal “Yes”. When students from their classes were asked: “Do your teachers treat you with respect?” the answer was a resounding “No”. How could the perceptions be so different? The answer lies in the difference between “conditional respect” and “unconditional respect”.

Becoming a Trusted Advisor - How to Build Trust
Enlightened leaders today hire leadership consultants and executive coaches to help with their leadership development. However, increasingly a number of my clients now prefer me to help them in the role of trusted advisor rather than expert consultant. This special partnership based on mutual respect and collaboration produces more sustainable results. The role of trusted advisor is open, transparent and fiercely client-centered.

Wealth Planning: Offense vs. Defense
This area of wealth planning is by far the most misunderstood and ignored. The personal finance industry which is so completely dominated by its focus on mutual funds has distracted the masses by having them focus on mutual fund rates of returns, dollar cost averaging, and other topics that get us to continue to just blindly, month after month, throw more and more money into their funds. The mutual fund industry would have you believe that as long as you put money away each month and pick the “top rated” funds everything will be great.

How do you feel about getting tax breaks?
Stephen Harper may not be able to break wooden boards as well as some of us in the martial arts community, but his breaks when it comes to taxes are something we can hold a mutual respect with him for. This blog is about what the fitness tax credit planned for 2015 means to our organization.
