Let Paper Join HistoryPress Kits Join History
The CEA (Consumer Electronics Association) started the world of change a few years ago "encouraging" PR people to only use online press services or online kits. Most of the shows followed suit (MWC - Mobile World Congress, CTIA and well most other shows) going green and making press materials available to media folks even if they didn't attend. But the hue and cry from publicists at NAB (National Association of Broadcasters) show was difficult to understand. The benefits of the web and online services aren't new. After all these years we're rather glad to see the blood, sweat, tears of paper kits disappear

After 150+ Years, 3D Is About Ready to Come Home
Go to a content conference, convention -- heck any conference, any convention. What's the leading subject of conversation? OMG 3D movies are fantastic. 3D video games are so real. Did you hear what Sir Howard said the other day? Yep we're all going to have 3D TV by the end of next year...all of us!!! Gee and we're still paying for our big screen HD TV sets (all of them!). DreamWorks Katzenberg, Sony, Panasonic and "them" are hellbent to make certain you get the economy moving in the right direction. Don't get us wrong. This round of 3D movies are much better than the stuff of the 50s. Notice most of them are animated films? Easier to turn 2D into 2.5 or 3D movies. Games? Kids love em.

Creative Production is in the Cloud
NAB the center for video content production/distribution showed off two things this year. Content delivery is ready and content production isn't confined to specific centers but to specialty locations where people choose to live and in the cloud.

Tellywood Works to Reach You Any, Every Way They Can
NAB is still sorta about TV and movies...but with a difference. The difference is huge. They're trying to figure out how to hook you up with their content, stuff, rather than letting the other guy suck you in. So they're trying all the angles smartphone, tablet, notebook. Heck even the TV and theater. Seems as though you've given up work, exercise, just about everything to watch content anytime, anywhere, anyhow. They haven't figured out exactly how to make money on it all yet but they do like what Netflix has done over the past year. Maybe they'll try their own channels of distribution shortly...maybe.

Taking a Business Page from Hollywood
There's a lot of creative work around the world involved in the movies we see on the screen. But the difficult part is getting content from place to place quickly, easily accurately. We looked at the backend of the movie industry before we departed NAB

Content Anywhere, Anytime Needs to be Monetized, Saved
NAB is the second most popular event for us to attend because we like to see how prehistoric our years in TV were compared to today and it's like light years. This year we're way beyond pushing stuff to the tube. The content people are sending stuff to everything. We know that's not a brilliant observation but what literally blows us away is how the industry is now able to do it so precisely to your mobile device, in the right format, even at the right time and BAM!!! with the right ads around it that are of most interest to you. It is so elegant. Oh sure they're not exactly certain what your threshold of pain will be for the volume of ads but they're working on that. Oh and NAB was cloudy too.
