The iGen
NO...Doesn't have a thing to do with "that" smartphone...or "that" store...or "that" tablet. It's the next generation. Kids and we mean little kids. That's what today's products are being designed for/targeted at. You happen to buy one...fine. Watch a little, little kid pick up a smartphone. He/she just uses it. They've come pre-wired and we're still trying to figure out how to IM. It's the IGen. They want it instantly. They want to use it instantly. They expect their photos, their video, their music, their stuff immediately when/where/how they want it. 35-year-olds are over the hill. 20 year olds just at the peak of the hill. 15 year olds, half way up the hill. 50 year olds...ferget it!!!! So we've looked at the people who will replace you as the prime market. Curious....take a look !!!

Why you have to love Tech Stocks!
As someone who spent a lot of time as a Financial Planner after the Tech Bubble in the late 90’s, it is not easy to say you have to love Tech stocks. Why? Because, the Tech market of the late 90’s became the poster child of what not to do when investing. It became a cliché for anyone who taught people how to diversify and be a balanced investor.

Are you creating competing motivations in your sales force?
I recently met the managing director of a medium-sized software business, who asked me why would his sales people keep selling one version of their product when they had been instructed to also sell in a newer, more comprehensive version of the product. It turned out that his sales people earned more commission by selling in the older version than the newer version of his product. And the sales people made the bulk of their income from their commissions rather than from their salaries. There you have it. What makes perfect sense to the sales person does not always work for the organisation or the customer.

Every business needs software in order to run efficiently, effectively, and productively (accounting, marketing, communication, etc.). Why Internet Explorer Must Die
If you’re someone who lives more in the online world, you’re sure to have heard of or participated in the eternal battle of the browsers – IE vs. others. If you’re a new denizen of the World Wide Web, you would want to know which browser best suits your online needs, but chances are, you’ve already been warned off Microsoft’s Internet Explorer. This is not just because of IE’s poor track record as a browser, but also no concrete changes being made to newer versions, despite Microsoft one of the biggest players in the market. So, we decided to debate why newer browsers are much more preferable when compared to IE one by one so as to make your choice easier for you.

A Tough Economy Can be Good for Your Career
Shaky economy or not, now is the time for newer professionals to move full speed ahead when it comes to life in the workplace. Unlike their more seasoned coworkers, newer workers don’t have a track record of successes (or much of any professional history, for that matter) to fall back on when times are tough or to justify a lackluster performance or slower sales. Instead, they’ve got to hit the ground running and start building a string of experiences now – economy be darned.

Website Wipeouts - Flash, Splash & Crash
Getting a website to actively support, let alone expand your business through the acquisition of new customers is not easy. Frequently, its made more difficult by selection of inappropriate technologies as the platform, or inappropriate use or placement of those technologies in areas that would be best managed in a more intelligent way. Added to that initial misjudgement are sequential failures to address the basic "rules of engagement" in the interactions with your website visitors.

Reverse Mentoring and the Leader-Follower Theory
Navigating through the rapidly changing world of blogs, podcasts, social networking, tablet computers, smart phones and other technologies can be a daunting task for anyone. Managers and business owners find themselves facing the reality that they are increasingly out of touch with these modern technologies and the lexicon of the under-35 crowd. Equally challenging and frustrating is paying for specialized training in technologies that are sure to be out of date the moment you leave the classroom. One solution to this managerial quandary is “reverse mentoring.” Reverse mentoring helps managers to effectively use the skills and knowledge of their employee base without stepping outside the confines of the organization. Understanding the process of reverse mentoring is the first step to successfully embracing emerging technologies and ideas
