| |
| When you work at home, there are many great benefits. However, staying fit is not so easy when you work out of your own home. It's very easy to spend a lot of time working at your computer and often you just don't find the time to get the exercise that you need. |

Lesson #2: Keep it Simple
| |
| Puck has never been one for pretensions. Despite being a gourmet chef who caters to the who’s who of Hollywood and many of America’s other elite, Puck has refused to succumb to the glitz and the airs of many of the other top chefs. He has kept his recipes simple and their presentation equally so, his restaurant designs unfussy and his overall message clear-cut: “I think people can walk by, and they see the menu. It’s not intimidating and the food is interesting. If they get good food, friendly service in a nice environment, people will come back and tell their friends.” |

Is everyone else getting wealthy off your efforts except you?
| |
| Are you the proverbial nice guy who refuses payment even though you went miles out of your way to help out? Have people told you, you are too nice for your own good?
Think about the last time you knew you should be charging more, but instead, sold yourself for less. What were the consequences? |

Why a Sales Manager MUST Evoke "The Law of Reciprocity"
| |
| For our purposes, the Law of Reciprocity states: If you do something nice for someone, human nature dictates that the recipient will feel compelled to do something nice for you in return.
It is in essence: "you reap what you sow". This is an irrefutable law and one that you should teach your salespeople. The question of will someone actually act upon it at a given time depends on who asks.

Mentoring and Walking - Taking a Different Route
| |
| I am a very keen walker especially around the beautiful Hertfordshire countryside. Now one can get in a rut in walking as in business of always going the same way. I consider this principle in my latest article and find amazing value in taking a different route. I describe how I went for a walk with one of my clients near his home to great benefit to both parties. Read on and perhaps we can go for a walk too!

Can Simply Being Nice Save You Money?
| |
| It occurred to me (at the tax office of all places) that simply being nice to others really does save us money. This morning while paying taxes, I was pleasant and took the time to be nice and two ladies really did everything in their power to save me some money. As I then drove to my office, I pondered the application of "simply being nice" to a more general business application. Can we as leaders role model being nice and teach our employees to be the same way? Can being nice impact our bottom line? Do we sometimes neglect the very people that mean success or failure in the game of business? |

Life Changing Seven Mile Walk and My New Experiment

| Last Saturday my wife and I decided to go for a walk along the Grand River at Riverside Park. It was a beautiful morning and although I declined when she first asked me if I wanted to walk, I am very glad I changed my mind. |

Setting Goals
| |
| The time-tested phrase ‘you have to learn to crawl before you can walk’ is merely a metaphor for setting micro and macro goals for yourself. If your ultimate goal is to be able to walk, then yes it is important that you should learn to crawl first. |

Digital Bytes – The Challenge of Balancing Real, Virtual Worlds
| |
| People jog off cliffs, they walk into manholes, they walk into the middle of the street without looking, they go through meals never looking away from their screen -- regardless of which one it is -- updating their social media, viewing/responding to emails...moving around the virtual world missing some of the really neat stuff going on in the real world. Hey we're guilty too!!

Great Leadership Requires Inspiration
| |
| Go out and take a walk. As you stroll around your city, town, or countryside, think of all the good things about it and remember why you chose to live there. Get out of town and take a hike in nature. As you walk around, think about all the wonderful things about your state or nation, and why you're blessed to live there. Walk around your home, inside and out, and think about all the reasons your own home is such a blessing, too.... |
