Have you read Banker to the Poor?

Interview of Mohammad Yunus of Grameen Bank
| |
| I found this interview of Mohammad Yunus of Grameen Bank. His idea to provide “micro loans” to poor people to jumpstart their entrepreneurship truly is changing the world. In fact, Yunus won the 2006 Nobel Peace Prize for his work. |

Insurance Sales Training

| Zig Ziglar put it best. He said " You were born a winner. But to be a winner you must believe your a winner, prepare to win, and expect to win." I believe that every person that enters into the sales profession is already a winner. Stepping out of a comfort zone of a nine to five job to move into a career, comprised mostly of commission can be a scary proposition. The rewards however can be huge. The ROI in sales is unmatched in other profession. |

Currently society is failing many of it's citizens. 2006 Nobel Peace Prize winner Muhammad Yunus says in his excellent book ‘Creating a world without poverty', "Half of the world's population lives on two dollars a day. Over one billion people live on less than a dollar a day." |

Economic Reform Leaves America Unhappy
| |
| If you haven't seen "The Prize Winner of Defiance, Ohio," you should. Normally, Hollywood preaches a predictable liberal sermon about greedy corporations, the evil military, mythical global warming, and the fantasy triumph of progressive ideas. But someone in Tinsel Town messed up with "Prize Winner"... this 2005 movie, starring Julianne Moore and Woody Harrelson, is an outstanding metaphor for the real relationship between the government and the economy in today's America.

A Battle for the Mind
| |
| Almost every person is born with virtually unlimited potential in terms of their ability to develop. Not everyone can be (or wants to be) an elite athlete or a Nobel Prize winner, but almost anyone can mature to be the person that he or she wants to be. The problem is that, in many cases, this maturing is negatively impacted by our self-talk. And much self talk arises out of feedback we experience. They Sure Make Oakland Look Like Paradise!
| |
| A few years ago my company sponsored a sales contest (back when companies were allowed to do business by selling things). It was a big deal. First prize was a week-long vacation in Hawaii. Second prize was a week in San Diego. Third prize was a week in Palm Springs. There was also a consolation prize for next-to-last place: a week in Oakland.... |
