Want to Write Better? Strengthen Your Writing with Three Self-Editing Tips
| |
| The English language, like mathematics, has rules that make your message clear and understandable. In today’s era of e-mail and text communications, some may feel the rules of communication are largely unimportant as long as one gets the message across. But we know from verbal communication that how one says something is often as important, maybe even more important, than the actual words being said. |

Building The Bandwagon How Bellwether Softwares 23 Year Journey May Very Well Change The Way Organizations Purchase Bellwether Software Profile
| |
| Bell-weth-er (noun): One that serves as a leader or as a leading indicator of future trends (American Heritage Dictionary)

In a recent post on eWorld, I discussed the importance of providing a venue in which the landscape was not dominated by the larger vendors who invariably flex their marketing might (re deep pockets) to monopolize the spotlight. (Note: check out the eWorld venue because as I had indicated, the conference “has become the conduit between substance starved professionals and the emerging companies (and technologies) that promise to reshape supply chain practice for the next ten years and beyond.”)

Introvert Myth - Introvert and Extrovert Are Only Nouns
| |
| The introvert myth continues to perpetuate possibly because of the use of the word almost exclusively as a noun, not a verb. Let's first look at how we commonly use the word as a noun to label people and then on to why it is a myth. |

Career Passion and Hard Work
| |
| Passion is mostly a good thing-right? Then I thought about Mel Gibson’s Movie, “The Passion of the Christ,” and with all the negative publicity around Mel these days, I wasn’t so sure any more. So I went and looked up “passion” in the dictionary. It said that “passion” is from the Latin verb patior, meaning to suffer or to endure.
As an emotion it is an intense, compelling feeling, enthusiasm, or desire for something. So which is it guys? To suffer or endure or to desire something? This left me even more confused! The only concussion that I could come to was that passion seemed to be a desire for suffering, but that did not seem rite either so I kept on looking. Then I came across an article written by Curt Roengren: “4 Myths About Career Passion.” Here’s what he says...

Are Your Prepared to Lead?
| |
| To lead is a verb. It implies action. The leader acts, the follower reacts. The leader is the one who steps out in front and says "Follow me; I know a better way." If he's convincing or trusted, those who relate to the message will follow.
There are those who say leadership can be learned -- and I definitely agree with that. There are, however, natural strengths and talents within each of us which are not the result of learning. |

Relationship = to relate with a significant other person lovingly everyday.
| |
| Look at it as a verb "to relate with a significant other person lovingly everyday" not a noun. It is a verb – continuous – you are in a relationship for as log as you are relating with this person. And if you are doing it so lovingly then you are in a goooood relationship!
Whose responsibility is a relationship?
50-50?
80-20?
In my opinion, each partner has to give 100% in order for a relationship to work.
A real loving relationship is a partnership of mutual support and mutual pleasure and mutual respect.

Growing the Leader in Us
| |
| Leadership is a verb, not a noun. Leadership is action, not a position. Leadership is defined by what we do, not the role we are in. Some people in "leadership roles" are excellent leaders. But too many are bosses, "snoopervisors," technocrats, bureaucrats, managers, commanders, chiefs, and the like. |

Leading from the Inside Out
| |
| A leader may or may not be appointed to head a group or organization - to be put in charge. Whether formally in the role or not, a leader makes things happen. A leader takes action. A leader doesn't say something must be done about this, a leader does something about it. Leadership is a verb, not a noun. Leadership is action, not a position. Leadership is defined by what we do, not the role we are in. We all need to be leaders, regardless of the roles we may be in.
