Can Magic Marketing Words Get You a 90 Conversion Rate YES
| |
| I have to admit that I am very skeptical anytime someone tells me that they have built a squeeze page where they are seeing a 90% sign-up rate.
However, Mike Morgan is a world class copywriter, and he just told me at JV Alert Live that one of his squeeze pages actually converts at 90%.
What is even better is that he was willing to show me the page that actually delivers this for him.
When I looked at his page, I noticed a couple of things... |

7 Ways to Make Your Home Page a Home Run for Usability
| |
| Your home page is the single most crucial page of your site. This is the page that will be the primary entry point for a majority of your visitors. It is also the page that sets the stage for the rest of the site giving visitors a birds-eye view of who you are, what you're about, what you can do for them, what you offer, and how they get the information needed.
The importance of making sure your home page is user-friendly cannot be understated. This page, more than any other, has to pull together so many elements without being overbearing or overloading the visitor with information overkill. Despite the over-reaching purpose of the home page, simplicity is the key. Provide the necessary information and usability elements and you'll lower your bounce rate and improve site conversions along the way.

The Art of the Signup Page
| |
| A site's signup page is the second most important page on a site (the most important is the home page itself) because this is where you're asking for committment. Everyone worries about the home page (and still don't do a good job), but most companies do a poor job with the signup page. For example, HAMweather's is aesthetically-challenged, and Last.fm's doesn't convey enough information. This article about signup pages by Tim Bednar is a good read. His list of important signup-page elements is: |

Landing Page Optimization Tips
| |
| When we hear the words Landing Page we generally think of PPC campaigns or some other form of internet advertising. But I like to use landing pages for all of my off-line advertising also. However, you’re using it, a landing page is a web page, typically hidden from the site’s menu bar and other navigation – meaning the only way you can get to the page is to type the URL directly into the browser. |

Google Slapped or Slapped by the Hand of God-Which is the Most Effective?
| |
| Since I keep hearing the term, I found a definition for “Google slapped”: It is a term used by mainly small businesses that rely on Google AdWords to drive business to their sites. Google AdWords allows people to have their advertisements for their business on pages with keywords that relate to their products. People who hold AdWords accounts pay each time someone clicks on their ad at about 5¢-10¢ per click. If Google decides that the page potential customers visit when they click on the ad is unrelated, of poor quality, or maybe it loads slowly, they may take punitive action in the form of a Google Slap which drives up the price of the pay per click amount, sometimes to $10 per click, which most small vendors cannot afford to pay. Google may also reduce your page ranking which means you have to pay more. |
