SOME PARADOXES AND ANTIPODES REGARDING SUCCESSFUL CHANGE
32 seeming paradoxes that require understanding in order to create successful change.

The Land Of Purposeful Paradoxes - The Birthplace Of Your Divinely Inspired Life Purpose
Paradox is defined as something that appears to contradict itself, two statements that say opposite things and yet are both true. Something that seems to contradict itself and when heard together form a Truth. If there is such a thing as Truth in the cosmos, one of the most interesting places to find truth is in a paradox because like we said in our definition of a paradox, a paradox contains multiple truths. We as humans tend to want to see things as either/or, black or white. We are often uncomfortable with two things being true. We tend to want things one-way or the other. Do you have a FAVORITE paradox? Here are a few examples: "The more you learn, the less you know." Or "The more things change, the more they stay the same".... Or one of my personal favorites from Charles Dickens: "It was the best of times, it was the worst of times".

Raising A Family While You Work
The story of Margie Brogan, a labor arbitrator, on how to raise a family as she runs a business.

USING THE POWER OF PASSION TO EXPLOIT TOUGH TIMES AND WIN NEW CUSTOMERS
There is one large business truth in traumatic times: Either you’re exploiting change, or change is exploiting you? The understandable norm in meltdown times is to hunker down. This can work only as long as customers are willing to cooperate and competitors are ready to follow suit, but it entirely misses the opportunity presented by the crisis, while also having an unfortunate effect on our teams' morale, passion, and commitment. This paper outlines 7 manageable business paradoxes organizations can practice to win. Organizations that do these can recapture the power of passion with their teams, use that passion to capitalize on the tough times and win new customers, and dramatically differentiate themselves from their competitors.

Stress less by shifting perception - say YES to what is happening inside you and around you
The level of stress we experience depends on greatly on our Perception of people and situations. Our perception of reality rather then of reality itself. Therefore the most effective way to better cope with uncertainty is be shifting our perception.Simple No? It is one of the paradoxes in life ...the most simple things are often the most difficult to master. However, the following easy to adopt, yet effective approach has helped many to succeed.

How great leaders use values to drive performance
Great leaders instinctively know the importance of values. Values create the organizational culture. When articulated and implemented consistently, values reduce the need for close supervision, engender trust and co-operation with suppliers and customers, and raise performance. Great leaders recognize this. That is why they commit substantial personal time to articulation and implementation of values. They are also good at mastering paradoxes of values.

Managing Through the Power of Paradox
We thought things were better than they were. We were sure things would be better than they are. But here we are—in meltdown. We need to use the leadership paradoxes to win.

THE PARADOXICAL WAY WE LIVE
How is it that we have bigger houses and smaller families, more conveniences, but less time. We have more degrees but less sense, more knowledge, but less judgment, more medical experts but less wellness. We have taller buildings but shorter tempers, wider freeways but narrower viewpoints. We spend more but enjoy less. I mean just what is it that we have created here anyway! What have we been thinking or perhaps we haven’t been thinking, at least not enough about what really counts, what really is important in our lives. If the paradoxes we find all around us are an indication of how effective we have become at living happy, fulfilling lives, we are in real trouble.

The Power of Support
It may sound like a paradox - being ‘in need’ of support to claim your own life or ‘leaning on’ others in order to stand on one’s own - and life is about paradoxes. What I observe and have experienced is that opening to the support that is there for us allows us to move forward with an ease and grace that might not have been present otherwise. The foundation of life is all about love.
