Lesson #3: Be Inspired
“Fashion is not simply a matter of clothes,” said Chanel. “Fashion is in the air, born upon the wind. One intuits it. It is in the sky and on the road.” A passionate woman, Chanel found the inspiration for her designs in the simplicities of her everyday life. From the closets of her lovers to the time she spent outdoors on her frequent fly-fishing expeditions, Chanel never stopped seeking out ideas for new product lines.

Be Passionate and Stay Committed
Be passionate - The important detail is to ensure you are passionate about what you are doing. No matter how much potential your business might have for making money, unless you believe in it, if you don't believe in it, it's quite hard to convince other people to. A bit of self-belief can go very long way.

New Rules
Last week I was working with one of my small business clients, a bright and dynamic woman who’s passionate about positioning her artisan business for growth. We were talking about her financial picture and forecasting robust sales over the next three years.

Follow your passion and be the best in the world
Follow your passion. This is not a place to get rich quick and a lot of entrepreneurs go in thinking what’s the quickest path between me and a cash-out? Do what you’re passionate about. If you’re passionate about it and you do it right, the money will come but there are a lot easier ways to earn a pay check than to start a business.

I Quit But Didn't Tell You
Most people initially begin their work tenures as engaged employees. They come to work, wanting to give 110 percent. They’re passionate about what they’re doing and want to become a significant part of the organization. But effectively selecting engaged employees is necessary but not sufficient to achieve Passionate Performance. Even the most engaged employee can have his passion for work diffused if his leader doesn’t know how to ignite Passionate Performance.

Passionate but not Persuasive
There are times when we have an idea be it business or otherwise which we are passionate about. But I would issue caution when relying on that passion to persuade others. Sometimes you can be passionate but not persuasive...

Passion For Business
What do you get passionate about? Are you working in an area that you are passionate about? If not, what steps can you take to ensure that you move towards that passion?

Get me a woman
Some of you may be wondering why my blog is called “Sell like a woman”. First, Sell like a woman is not a feminist manifesto nor is it a male bashing exercise. The creation of the title was inspired by an increasing body of research overseas showing that woman are often outperforming men when it comes to achieving real and sustainable results in sales and effective sustainable client relationships. This led me to begin my research project and the book I am now writing, also called “Sell Like A Woman”. I have always been curious about women and their success in sales and wanted to explore the concept here in Australia and develop some Australian-based research as well.

Living on Purpose
Three women are killed in a car crash on the way home from a weekend excursion. Their souls are immediately whisked off to heaven for an orientation session. Each one was asked, "When you are in your casket and friends and family are mourning your death, what would you like to hear them say about you?" The first woman said, "I'd like to hear them say that I was a great entrepreneur and a terrific mother." The second woman responded, "I would like to hear that I was a wonderful wife and school teacher who made a huge difference in our children of tomorrow." The last woman replied, "I would love to hear them say...LOOK, SHE'S MOVING!!!!!"
